Progress of infrastructural works going on in Ujjain, Indore division for Simhastha-2028 should be reviewed every 15 days: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Ujjain and Indore divisions will be the main centers of activities in Simhastha-2028. Due to the presence of 2 Jyotirlingas in these divisions, the movement of devotees and religious activities will be comparatively more. Ensure that the work of various departments in Indore-Ujjain division is completed within the time limit, this monitoring should be done every 15 days. Officers of competent level should review the progress of the works by holding meetings. Such subjects in which coordination or guidance is necessary from high level should be brought to the notice of the state government. Ensure immediate resolution of the reasons for delay by ensuring weekly monitoring of the works assigned to the construction agencies. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the second meeting of the Cabinet Committee of Simhastha-2028 held in the Ministry.
Instructions given for the development of new bus depots in Ujjain and Indore districts
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the work of getting approval from the cabinet committee and completing the tender process for all the infrastructure related works which take more time to be constructed should be completed by March 2025. Water supply and sewerage works should be started immediately. Along with this, the work plan for increasing the capacity of bus stations in Ujjain and Indore districts or the development of new bus stations should also be prepared by March 2025. The work plan for infrastructure works of all departments for Simhastha-2028 should be finalized by September 2025.
Along with Prayagraj Kumbh, Haridwar Kumbh model will also be studied
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to give the best shape to the arrangements of Simhastha-2028, along with Prayagraj Kumbh, Haridwar Kumbh model will also be studied. After the completion of Prayagraj Kumbh, a conference of companies and start-ups engaged in crowd management, drone survey, use of artificial intelligence and other activities will be organized in Ujjain and an action plan will be made to implement the best practices there in Simhastha-2028.
A special cell should be formed for coordination with the railways
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to form a special cell for the purpose of coordination with the railways to facilitate the movement of devotees. He said that suitable access roads should be developed for easy movement of devotees to the ghats. Special attention should be paid to sewerage, cleanliness and greenery in the construction work being done in Ujjain, Indore and Dewas. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also directed to prepare an action plan for the upgradation of dharamshalas for the convenience of tourists. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in view of Simhastha-2028, administrative structures in departments should be expanded immediately as per the need.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that Simhastha is a festival to revive the centuries-old Sanatan tradition. Arrangements should be developed in a coordinated manner in Indore, Ujjain and Dewas areas for the transportation and convenient accommodation of the devotees coming in Simhastha-2028.
Work is going on for continuous water flow in Kshipra river
It was informed in the meeting that in the first meeting of the Cabinet Committee, 19 works of the departments of Water Resources, Energy, Public Works, Culture, Archaeology and Urban Development and Housing costing about Rs 5,955 crore were approved. In the meeting, information was presented about the scheme being run for continuous water flow in the Kshipra river, construction of proposed barrages on Kshipra and Kanh rivers, Kanh river diversion and the updated status of ghat construction. Along with this, progress reports were presented on the construction of stone statues in Mahakal Lok Corridor, widening work in the six-lane Indore-Ujjain road, important roads of Ujjain, sewerage project of Ujjain city etc.
Approval was given to the works of Home, Tourism, Culture and Urban Development and Housing Department
The cabinet committee approved 56 works of Home, Tourism, Culture and Urban Development and Housing Department costing Rs 1,451 crore. These include Composite Control Room Ujjain, new police station building, Integrated Command and Control Center Khandwa to be built under the Home Department, including police housing, police station, transit hostel and camp, barracks etc. to be built in Ujjain, Khandwa, Dewas, Indore, Agar-Malwa, Khargone. Under the Urban Development and Housing Department, widening work of 5 roads important from the point of view of traffic during Simhastha has also been approved.
Narmada Resort in Maheshwar, new hotel in Omkareshwar, tourist facility center will also be developed in Mandsaur
The Cabinet Committee approved the upgradation of Hotel Maharajbada The Heritage, Grand Hotel, Shipra Residency and Hotel Ujjaini in Ujjain under the Tourism Department, upgradation of Tourist Facilitation Centre in Mandsaur and development of passenger amenities in Indore, Ujjain, Omkareshwar and Maheshwar under Omkareshwar Circuit Development. Approval was also given to Narmada Resort Maheshwar, Choral Resort Indore, construction of new hotel in Omkareshwar and upgradation of Hotel Avantika in Ujjain. Approval was also given to the upgradation of Lal Bagh Palace Complex Indore, maintenance and development work of Darbar Hall Rajbada Indore under the Culture Department, development of Mamleshwar Temple Complex located in Omkareshwar and development and maintenance work of Veer Durgadas Ji’s Chhatri located in Ujjain.
