Cooperative activities should be conducted keeping the future generation in mind: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the year 2025 is being celebrated as the International Cooperative Year. Activities should be conducted at the village and ward level to increase the reach of cooperatives in the state and to contribute to sustainable development. There is a need to develop corporate culture in the cooperative set-up while promoting innovation and information technology for strengthening cooperative societies. Activities should be conducted with the aim of realizing the mantra of “focus on knowledge” of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and preparing the basis for the cooperatives of the future generation for developed India. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the meeting of the State Level Apex Committee held in the Ministry for the implementation of International Cooperative Year 2025. Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput, Cooperative Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary Shri Anurag Jain and senior officials were present.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Revenue, Farmers Welfare and Development, Animal Husbandry and Dairy and Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Development departments should coordinate activities to identify the farmers left out of the Kisan Credit Card facility in the state and provide them facilities. Work should be done with inter-departmental coordination to empower PACS and make them more capable and competent. PACS members should be given priority in the convergence of government schemes.

The year 2025 has been declared as the International Year of Cooperatives by the United Nations on the initiative of the Government of India. “Cooperatives build a better world” is its theme, which reflects the effectiveness of the cooperative model in facing global challenges. It also highlights the contribution of cooperatives in the efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals by the year 2030.
