Increase in forest area and wildlife activities is an achievement of the state: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that even in areas like Panna of the state, where the status of wildlife had become zero, the activities of wildlife have resumed as a result of the efforts of forest officials, this is a symbol of their commitment towards their service and they deserve congratulations. At present, the state has diamond, cheetah and now even the elephant is heading towards Madhya Pradesh. The forest area of the state is rich. Between the years 2003 and 2021, the forest area has increased by 1063 square kilometers. Bhopal is the only capital in the country, around which tigers can be easily seen. This is a pleasant and big achievement for our state from the environmental point of view. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the inaugural session of the two-day IFS (Indian Forest Service) Meet and Forestry Conference in the auditorium of Pandit Khushilal Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the conference by lighting the lamp and garlanding the statue of Mother Saraswati. Minister of State for Forest and Environment Shri Dilip Ahirwar, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri Ashok Barnwal, Principal Chief Forest Conservator and Forest Force Chief Shri Aseem Shrivastava and other IFS officers were present at the conference. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was welcomed by presenting him a Rudraksh plant.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that such meets are necessary for mutual dialogue, sense of friendship, sharing of experiences and developing a better work culture. Madhya Pradesh has abundant forest wealth and there is immense possibility of study and research in many disciplines including archaeology, geology, environment, botany. The forest department will have to take initiative to encourage and support studies in these fields. Similarly, activities should also be expanded to promote the tourism sector. He praised the forest staff for effectively facing the challenge of displacement of villages in the context of Ratapani. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government will provide all possible support for the development of forests and conducting innovative activities.
Minister of State for Forest and Environment Shri Dilip Ahirwar said that the forests and wildlife of Madhya Pradesh, which is rich in natural resources, are our identity. He said that the government is committed to their conservation and development. Many activities and programs are being run in the state by keeping public participation at the center. Minister of State Shri Ahirwar said that the result of honest and effective initiatives taken by the state government for the conservation and development of forests is that along with stability in the forest cover of the state, the efforts made towards the management of wildlife have been appreciated. Minister Shri Ahirwar congratulated the Indian Forest Service officers on this occasion. In the two-day IFS meet, there will be four sessions on the subjects of scientific management of forests, joint forest management, welfare of forest dwellers etc. Along with this, sports and cultural programs will also be organized.
