Uttarakhand News: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was honored by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Mahamanch at a program organized in Haridwar for implementing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. The event was held at BHEL ground on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Constitution maker Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, in which a large number of local people participated with full enthusiasm and zeal despite the scorching sun. On receiving the honor, CM Dhami expressed gratitude and said that such a huge crowd is an indication that people have expressed their confidence in this bold decision. He said that this honor is not of any one person, but of that thinking and ideology, which has been raising the voice of equality and justice in the society for years. In his address, the Chief Minister described Dr. Ambedkar as a visionary. He said that Baba Saheb believed that till every citizen does not get equal rights, real equality cannot come in the society. It was this thinking that inspired him to include a big and revolutionary idea like Uniform Civil Code in the Constitution. The Chief Minister clearly said that the Uttarakhand government has not just implemented a law, but has taken a big step towards social equality and justice. He also said that for years Baba Saheb’s thinking was ignored, but today’s India is moving towards adopting his dreams. This new India also respects its heritage and at the same time, is setting new examples by taking bold decisions.

Dhami said that this crowd gathered in Haridwar is not just a gathered group, but it is the voice of the public, which is telling that people have faith in the decisions of their government. This voice is no longer limited to Uttarakhand, but is resonating across the country. This historic decision has been possible only due to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the strong will of the government. He said that Uttarakhand is once again showing the way to the country, where equality is no longer limited to books, but has come on the ground by becoming a law. This is not an ordinary law, but a decisive step towards a new India. The Chief Minister also announced that Baba Saheb Samrasta Sthal will be built in Haridwar, where the coming generation will be informed about the life of social workers of the Scheduled Castes, their contribution and the Indian Constitution. Along with this, under the SCP/TSP schemes of the Social Welfare Department, multi-purpose buildings will be constructed in those areas where the number of Scheduled Castes is high. These buildings will be named after the big social reformers of the Dalit, Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe society of Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister also said that special awareness campaigns will also be run in schools and colleges to make the new generation aware about the schemes related to the welfare of the Scheduled Castes and their rights, the responsibility of which will be given to the Scheduled Caste Commission.
