According to officials involved in Naxal operations, Mandla and Dindori districts are being used by Naxalites as their safe havens. In this regard, AGC Kumar of the Balaghat Zone says that Naxalites have established the Maharajpur, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh (MAC) area in 2015-16. This area extends from Rajnandgaon, Khairagarh, Kawardha in Chhattisgarh to Manendragarh and Koriya districts. According to Sanjay Kumar, Govindya in Maharajpur, Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh and Balaghat (Jiyarbi) in AP are part of the Naxalites’ ACC area, which is why Naxalites are keen on it.In addition, Naxalites have developed the Kanha Tiger Reserve in Mandla and the Bhoremadev Sanctuary in Chhattisgarh, which they call cabins. This is a safe haven for Naxalites.
There is a lack of atmosphere in Mandla due to the campaign launched by the residents to connect the districts with the Naxalites.
