The doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will close for the winter tomorrow, Sunday, November 17, at 9:07 PM. According to Dr. Harish Gaud, the media in-charge of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, the process of closing the doors for winter will involve Rawal Amarnath Namboodiri dressing as a woman and welcoming Mata Lakshmi into the sanctum of the Shri Badrinath temple. Before this, Shri Uddhav Ji and Shri Kuber Ji will arrive at the temple premises.The door-closing ceremony will start at around 8:15 PM, and after covering the deity with a ghee blanket, the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will officially close at 9:07 PM for the winter season. On November 18, the deities will depart for Yoga Badrinath Pandukeshwar.
Regarding the door-closing ceremony, it was shared that the temple will open tomorrow at 4 AM during the Brahma Muhurat. As usual, the Abhishek Puja will take place at 4:30 AM, and the daily offerings will continue as before throughout the day. The temple will remain open for visitors during the day.In the evening, the evening prayers will begin at 6:45 PM, and one hour later, at 7:45 PM, Rawal will lead Mata Lakshmi from the Lakshmi temple located in the temple premises into the Shri Badrinath temple. The Shayan Aarti will take place at 8:10 PM, and after that, the process of closing the doors will begin. By 9 PM, the ghee blanket prepared by the Mana Women’s Group will be placed on Lord Badrivishal. Finally, at exactly 9:07 PM, during an auspicious time, the doors of Lord Badrivishal will close for the winter season.
