Universities and teachers should prepare the young generation to fulfill the needs of the country and society in accordance with our culture: Governor Patel

Bhopal : Governor  Mangubhai Patel, while paying homage to Dr. Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution of a harmonious, inclusive nation, for living a life with dignity, said that Baba Saheb, with his amazing foresight, has handed over to us the legacy of an inclusive, harmonious society in the form of the Constitution, free from discriminations of caste, gender, language, religion, wealth and power etc. Governor Shri Patel was delivering the presidential address at the 6th convocation of Dr. BR Ambedkar Social Science University in Mhow on Friday. Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, former Chancellor of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University Lucknow Dr. Prakash C Bartatunia,  MLA Ms. Usha Thakur were present in the function organized under the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav.

Governor  Patel said that our Constitution is an inspirational living document and the modern religious text of independent India, whose observance with devotion is the ultimate duty of every Indian. It is the duty of the students to support and protect the Constitution in their conduct and behavior. They should accept the responsibility of the development of the brothers and sisters of the comparatively deprived, backward classes and communities of the society with responsibility. He said that Prime Minister Shri Modi has given the educational institutions an opportunity to prepare such citizens through the National Education Policy for nation building in accordance with the dreams of Baba Saheb. It is important that universities and teachers  prepare young flag bearers dedicated to social prosperity and equality to fulfill the needs of the country and society in accordance with our culture.

The Governor requested the teachers to make the education system such that it promotes entrepreneurship among the students, inspires innovation, inculcates qualities of thinking, leadership and also imparts the values ​​of participation in social concerns. Youth is our biggest strength. When the country celebrates its 100th anniversary of independence, the youth will be leading the country. The  youth will have to work from today itself to decide what should be the form of developed India at that time.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has said that Baba Saheb Ambedkar considered it a matter of pride to receive education in adverse circumstances and called it exemplary. He said that whatever Baba Saheb learned, he dedicated it to the society. The Constitution of the country is a proof of this in which India’s diverse culture,  tribal citizens etc. have been connected together. Baba Saheb has glorified the Constitution by combining pictures. He said that during his tenure as Education Minister, he started many faculties in this university.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that more new faculties will be opened as per the need. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that a decision will be taken on this in the meeting of Vice Chancellors chaired by the Governor in January. He said that along with skill development of the youth and giving clear direction, efforts will be made for the self-reliance of the university. The Chief Minister also congratulated the Governor for starting the process of conferring degrees to students through convocation. He also wished the students to make their future bright through education.

Saraswat guest  Bartunia also addressed the function In the convocation ceremony, 16 researchers of the institute were awarded PhD degrees. In the last 5 years, more than 100 researchers have received PhD degrees from Ambedkar University. In the last session, 851 students received degrees from the university. Out of these, the students doing PhD were awarded degrees on the stage. In the beginning, the guests  started the ceremony by garlanding the statues of Maa Saraswati, Lord Buddha and Babasaheb and lighting the lamp. The welcome address was given by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Ramlal Atram. The Registrar expressed his gratitude.
