Raipur. Take immediate action to provide employment to workers in Chhattisgarh state and provide them the benefits of government schemes. Labor Minister Lakhan Lal Devangan said today at the closing ceremony of the workshop organized by the Labor Department on the topic ‘Empowerment of Workers, Building the Future’ at a local hotel that to provide work to every worker, the Labor Department is registering 84 lakh workers and benefiting them with schemes. He said that no construction work is possible without workers, the government is giving the right to live a life with self-respect by honoring the workers and providing them the benefits of schemes. On this occasion, the Labor Minister honored the field officers of the department who did excellent work by giving them certificates.
Labor Minister Shri Devangan said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, many schemes are being run by the Labor Department for the welfare of workers. The field officers of the Labor Department should ensure immediate action so that all eligible and needy workers get the benefit of these schemes. The Prime Minister and the Chief Minister think that the workers of the state should get better benefits of these schemes. Continuous efforts are being made for this. Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board is also running many schemes in the interest of workers. Recently, the state government provided benefits of Rs 237 crore to the workers. This amount was transferred to the bank accounts of the workers through DBT. The Labor Minister said that the workers should not have to wander for any work. The officers of the department should work sensitively in this direction. 70 schemes are being run by the Labor Department in the interest of workers.
Secretary cum Labor Commissioner Mrs. Alarmelmangai D. while addressing the workshop said that ensure that all eligible and needy beneficiaries get the benefits of various welfare schemes run by the Labor Department. Also benefit the children of registered labor families from the scholarship scheme of the government. She further said that ensure that the unorganized workers get benefits from the schemes run under Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, State Social Security Board by getting them registered in the Labor Department. In the workshop, Deputy Labor Commissioner S.S. Paikara and Deputy Director of Industrial Health Safety T.K. Sahu gave information about inspection, prosecution and compliance report.
