T20 World Cup: Pakistan to play a do-or-die match against Canada

The T20 World Cup has started disappointingly for the Babar Azam-led Pakistan team and the team has lost both its opening matches in Group A. Pakistan first suffered an upset defeat against the US and then on Sunday the Indian team also increased its difficulties by defeating it by six runs in a thrilling match. Now Pakistan has to play the third match against Canada and if the team has to remain in the race for the Super Eight stage, then it will have to register a win at all costs.

Big wins will have to be registered in the remaining two matches

Pakistan’s chance to qualify for the Super Eight will now depend on big wins against Canada and Ireland, but for this it will have to hope that the US team loses badly in the matches against India and Ireland. In this situation, both the teams will have four points each and the decision will be made by better net run rate. In this way, the Pakistan team can only pray that the figures remain in its favor. USA’s net run rate is +0.626 after two wins and a win against Ireland would be enough for them. On the other hand, Pakistan’s net run rate is -0.150 which is disappointing, due to which they will need not just a win but a win by a big margin. So far in both the matches, the 2009 champions have not looked as strong as they were once known for.
