Raipur’s seven main routes got freedom from the web of wires
Raipur. The underground cabling project run by Raipur Smart City Limited to get rid of open electric wires in the busiest and densely populated areas of the city has been completed. In collaboration with CSPDCL, Raipur Smart City Limited has removed overhead wires from 7 major routes and done underground cabling.
According to Abinash Mishra, Managing Director of Raipur Smart City Limited, the web of overhead wires was a big problem in dense settlements. While complaints of electricity theft were common, there was a possibility of accidents due to these wires. The beauty of the city’s routes was also affected by the open wires. In view of this, Raipur Smart City Limited identified the areas of old settlements and did the work of laying electricity wires underground in 7 routes. With the cooperation of CSPDCL, electricity wires have been laid underground from Budheshwar Temple to Old Basti, Lakhe Nagar to Aamapara, Malviya Road. Similarly, Raipur Smart City Limited has also done Malviya Road-OCM. Cables have been laid underground in Chowk-Dargah, Malviya Road-Jaystambh-Fafadih, Kalibari-Bijli Office Chowk-Municipal Corporation Headquarters route.
He said that after completion of underground cabling work, complaints of electricity theft will be resolved and accidents caused by overhead electricity wires can be prevented.
