Provide facilities for online sales to small businessmen: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the Cottage and Village Industries Department should increase efforts to provide online sales facilities to small businessmen associated with small, domestic industries. With the development of its portal, the Cottage and Village Industries Department should work as a nodal department for the advancement of businessmen running small and micro industries. Work should be done keeping in mind the goal that such products produced in the state can be sold in the state and the country as well as exported in future. Arrangements should be made for the sale of various products in the weekly Mahila Haat for women businessmen at Bhopal Haat and other places in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the schemes of the Cottage and Village Industries Department in the Ministry on Wednesday. Minister of State for Cottage and Village Industries (Independent Charge) Shri Dilip Jaiswal was present in the meeting.
It was told in the meeting that Unity Mall will be established in Ujjain as a one stop market place for promotion and sale of One District-One Product, GI products, handicraft products and other local products. This will be the first Unity Mall of its kind in the country. Action is underway in this regard. Along with this, there is a resolution to provide 100 percent financial assistance for education to the children of handloom weavers and workers who get admission in the National Institute of Repute, action is also going on in this direction.
In the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that keeping in mind the protection of the environment in small industries like dona-pattal manufacturing, the manufacture of products from various plants should be encouraged instead of plastic. Arrangements should be made to provide training to idol craftsmen from famous idol craftsmen not only of the state but also of the country. Local people should also be made skilled for the work of making clothes of God at places of religious importance in the state and should be given economic benefits.
Increase bamboo production and honey collection
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Cottage and Village Industries Department should benefit cottage industries like incense stick manufacturing by encouraging bamboo producers. In those districts where bamboo production is low, dense plantation and development of bamboo along the river banks will help in preventing water erosion, along with this, bamboo production will also benefit. Women should be given economic benefits by training them for handloom. Ladli sisters can be linked to such works and their income can be increased. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that honey collection is done on a large scale in rural areas, but despite having many flower nurseries in cities, there are currently no necessary arrangements for this work. Arrangements and facilities should be developed at such places. With these efforts, citizens will get pure honey instead of substandard honey and honey collectors will also be able to get economic benefits. For this, the Cottage and Village Industries Department should make necessary training arrangements. Increased honey production should be sold through Mriganayani and other sales counters.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that many schemes of loans and grants are being run for small businessmen to upgrade their business. The officers of the department should also try to resolve the cases at the level of banks soon. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that India International Trade Fair is being held in Kolkata in the coming month of December. Efforts should be made to display and sell various crafts of the state in it.
Achievements of the department
While giving information about the achievements of the department in the meeting, it was told that Handloom Directorate, Silk Directorate, Khadi and Village Industries Board, Sant Ravidas Handicrafts and Handloom Development Corporation, Madhya Pradesh Mati Kala Board, Madhya Pradesh State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Union Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh State Sericulture Development and Trading Cooperative Federation and Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Cooperative Federation are working under the department. The department has activated all the institutions by implementing the points of Sankalp Patra: 2024. Vindhya Herbals has taken the initiative to start a honey processing unit in Gwalior in the interest of beekeepers. In this financial year, work is being done to train 200 beneficiaries under the Skill Development Scheme and provide financial assistance under PMEGP. 40 beneficiaries related to incense stick manufacturing have been trained in the state. Financial assistance has been provided to 9 beneficiaries under PMEGP. Steps have also been taken to start new branches of Mriganayani Emporium in major cities to promote silk prosperity scheme, local artifacts, and to provide market support in the form of quality certification, branding and advertising activities. Under skill development, provision has been made to provide incentives for basic skill training and advance skill training. A project has been prepared for Khadi Production Centre in Burhanpur, which will provide employment to 550 persons.
In the meeting, it was informed that 30 women beneficiaries in Ujjain have been provided training in making clothes for Gods and 40 sculptors have been provided training in stonecraft. The Mati Kala Board has provided training in Mati Kala craft to 1792 artisans. Eco-friendly idols of Lord Ganesha have been made available for sale through the Khadi Board Emporium.
