Devotees immersed 5595 small and 784 big idols in the immersion pond in 18 hours
Raipur. In the capital city of Raipur, on the occasion of the holy festival of Anant Chaturdashi yesterday, a fair of Shri Ganesh devotees was held from morning for the second consecutive day today to immerse the idols of the first revered god Vignaharta Shri Ganesh under the arrangement of immersion pond provided by Municipal Corporation Raipur near Mahadev Ghat. Devotees brought the idols of Shri Ganesh placed in homes and pandals and after worshiping and aarti with the help of crane and rolling machine available in the immersion pond of the Municipal Corporation, they were gathered with moist eyes to bid farewell to Ganpati Bappa on the last day of the ten-day Shri Ganeshotsav festival, Anant Chaturdashi festival yesterday and today for the second consecutive day. The team of the Municipal Corporation Health Department, with the help of a special gang of Safai Mitras, is continuously carrying out a special cleaning campaign of the immersion pond site near Mahadev Ghat. Waste of worship materials, flower garlands etc. is being removed immediately and cleanliness is being maintained. Under the Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan, the zone whose team is on duty at the Visarjan Kund site, a cleanliness awareness campaign is being run by informing the general public about the importance of cleanliness in life by running a Swachhata Signature Campaign through the health department of the said zone. It has been informed that in the Visarjan Kund of the Municipal Corporation near Mahadev Ghat, from 6 am on 17th September to 6 pm today on 18th September, in the said continuous period of 18 hours, 5595 small idols and 784 big idols of Shri Ganesh have been immersed by the devotees. The process of devout immersion of idols of Shri Ganesh is still continuing by the devotees at the Visarjan Kund site. It is worth mentioning here that on the instructions of Raipur District Administration, Raipur Municipal Corporation in collaboration with Raipur District Police Administration, in accordance with the directions of Hon’ble NGT, Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh Government, Chhattisgarh State Environment Protection Board, this year also, as per every year, immersion arrangements have been made in the Visarjan Kund in a traditional manner for the convenience of the devotees. For this, zone-wise duty of officers and employees has been imposed from today, 17th September to 23rd September in three shifts of 8 hours each. Crane, divers, fire brigade, first aid medical camp have been set up. The cooperation of Municipal Corporation, Home Department, Home Guard, CMHO is being provided in the administrative arrangements as per the instructions. For this, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra has already issued necessary instructions to make administrative arrangements for immersion of Shri Ganesh idols and a committee has been formed for this purpose.
