Organ transplant facility will be available in Rewa soon: Deputy Chief Minister Shukla

Bhopal. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla has said that organ transplant can save the life of a serious patient. In emergency situations, patients can be given a new life. Therefore, it is necessary to create awareness among the general public for organ transplant. He said that our effort is to honor the family members of citizens who donate organs on the occasion of Republic Day and Independence Day. The last rites of such persons should be performed with a guard of honor. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla honored the family members of eye donors in the closing ceremony of the 39th Eye Donation Fortnight at Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that Khushi Foundation is motivating people to donate eyes by explaining them. This organization is working as a bridge, as a result of which 19 eye donations have taken place in the eye bank established in Rewa so far this year and 36 patients have received eyesight so far through the eye bank established since the year 2015. He said that soon there will be organ transplant facility in Rewa so that eight organs of human body can be transplanted in needy patients.

Family of eye donors honored

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that such felicitation ceremony brings awareness in the society and people will also come forward voluntarily for eye donation. Deputy Chief Minister praised Shri Ramnaresh Dwivedi who has pledged to donate his entire body. He said that Rewa is moving towards becoming a medical hub. Along with the expansion of medical facilities, the vacant posts in Super Specialty Hospital and Sanjay Gandhi Hospital are being filled on priority. Deputy Chief Minister called for everyone’s participation to make Rewa better in every field. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla honored the family members of donors along with the members of Khushi Foundation. He rewarded the successful participants in various activities organized during the Eye Donation Fortnight.

It is worth mentioning that till now 127 eye donations have been done in Rewa and 60 people have filled the pledge form for eye donation. Dean Rewa Medical College Dr Sunil Agarwal, Superintendent Dr Rahul Mishra, Superintendent Super Specialty Hospital Dr Akshay Srivastava, Mr Kamlesh Sachdeva of Khushi Foundation along with doctors, family members of eye donors, students and members of Khushi Foundation were present.
