Mobile Medical Unit Camp at Bhikshu Ashram: A lifeline for the homeless and the elderly
Raipur: Every Tuesday, a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) camp is organized at Bhikshuk Ashram, which has become a boon for the homeless and the elderly who have been evicted from their homes. Today, on January 10, 2025, this camp was also organized successfully. This camp is run by the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) under the Chief Minister Slum Health Scheme. Its main objective is to provide primary health care to such people who are not able to go to the hospital. Free high quality medicines and blood test facilities are provided to the patients in the camp. This saves them from the need to go to the hospital for their everyday problems. Health awareness and improvement in life At the beginning of the camp, many patients were not aware of their serious health problems like diabetes, hypertension etc. With the efforts of the MMU team and the Bhikshuk Ashram team, these problems were detected and after proper treatment, now positive changes are coming in their lives. Along with this, people are given free counseling in the camp on the importance of cleanliness and disinfected lifestyle.
