Minister Patel unveiled the statue of Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi
Bhopal. The statue of Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi was unveiled at Press Barman Square Kareli, Narsinghpur on Saturday under the chief hospitality of Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor Minister Prahlad Singh Patel. The program was presided over by Dr. Rajkumar Acharya, Vice Chancellor of Awadhesh Pratap Singh University Rewa. The program started with the unveiling of the statue of Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi and lighting of lamps. After which all the guests garlanded the statue of former Prime Minister Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji.
Minister Shri Patel said that Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi was a revolutionary journalist and is considered to be the main pillar of Hindi journalism. He was such a name in the world of journalism, whose writings even the British government was afraid of. He struggled throughout his life to get the rights of farmers and laborers and was also active in the freedom movement. He was a vigilant journalist, patriot, social worker and active worker of the freedom struggle in Indian history. Today his statue unveiling program is to remember the remarkable work done by him.
Minister Shri Patel said that the doctor tells the disease of an individual and the journalist tells the disease of the society. The journalist assesses the weakness of the society and thinks about its solution. Just as we do not feel bad when a doctor informs us about the disease. Similarly, we should not feel bad about the words of those who tell us the faults of the society. Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi has done this work fearlessly. There is a need to follow the footsteps shown by him. His lifestyle is still exemplary. He did not get scared of the challenges that he faced in his life. He taught the lesson of Sarvadharma Sambhav. I pay my respects to him on his birth anniversary and congratulate Press Council Kareli for this event. He said that when I got the invitation for this program, I had said that I will definitely come to this program. Journalist colleagues have talked about building a journalist building in Kareli. Funds will be provided from the MLA fund for the journalist building. Journalist colleagues expressed their gratitude to him.
Former Rajya Sabha MP Shri Soni congratulated everyone for this program and said that the life of Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi was dedicated to the society and the nation. He tried to awaken the national consciousness with his writings. The statue of the best journalist of India has been installed in Kareli. The young generation will be able to know about his works. He sacrificed his life in the communal riots in Kanpur, so that social harmony is maintained. Kareli has its own identity. The journalists here have done a great job of presenting the views of the common man. This work should continue in the future as well.
Dr. Acharya, Vice Chancellor of Awadhesh Pratap Singh University, said that intellectual and cultural programs are created in a very systematic and well-planned manner in Kareli. I salute Shri Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi on his birth anniversary, who dedicated his life to journalism as well as society. Shri Vidyarthi worked with writers like Mahavir Prasad Dwivedi, who gave direction to cultural consciousness with his literary works.
