Keep Your Hands Soft and Smooth This Winter
Winter: can be tough on our hands! The dry air sucks the moisture right out, leaving them feeling rough and lifeless. It’s easy to forget about our hands, especially when we’re washing them so much. But with a little extra care, we can keep them soft and smooth. First, find a good moisturizer that’s packed with glycerin and hyaluronic acid. These ingredients help lock in moisture and keep your skin hydrated. Apply it generously, especially at night before bed.
Don’t forget the sunscreen! Just like your face, your hands need protection from the sun’s harmful rays. Slather on some sunscreen before heading outside. Exfoliating once a week with a gentle scrub can help remove dead skin cells and reveal brighter, smoother skin. Try to cut back on the handwashing. Frequent washing with soap can strip away natural oils, making your hands dry. If you have to wash, use a moisturizing soap and avoid hot water. And if you’re doing chores like washing dishes or cleaning, wear gloves! Detergent and water can really take a toll on your hands.
