Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Indian science and tradition have a deep connection. India has always given priority to science and innovation through its leadership. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the gathering after inaugurating the 31st National Children’s Science Congress at Ravindra Bhawan on Friday. He described the National Children’s Science Congress as an excellent platform for the development of child talents. On this occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav virtually inaugurated the renovation work and automation work with new equipment at Varah Mihir Astronomical Observatory established in Dongla of Ujjain district. He released the research journal ‘Yugyugin Bharat Ka Purovaak’ of Veer Bharat Trust, and also inaugurated the Mahadev film series made by Veer Bharat Trust. A video message of Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Shri Jitendra Singh was also broadcast in the program. In the video message, Union Minister Shri Singh encouraged the children who came to the National Children’s Science Congress by inspiring them to give their best performance.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is committed to promoting science, research and innovation. This coordination of science and culture will pave the way to bring India to the forefront on the global stage once again. Motivating the children and teachers, he said that the future of India is in your hands. The balance of science, culture and tradition is the basis of our development. The participation of 700 children and teachers from 6 Gulf countries and various states of India in the National Children’s Science Congress has made it special and historic. This event will make an important contribution in inspiring the new generation towards science and innovation.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated everyone on the launch of automation of Dongla Observatory and said that this initiative will help students and researchers to understand the astronomical mysteries in a better way. He said that India’s astronomy was advanced since ancient times. He said that worship of Navgrah, astrology and study of astronomical events have been an integral part of our cultural heritage.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stressed the need to redefine the concept of Greenwich time. He said that our ancestors had studied time and the orbit of celestial bodies from a scientific point of view, which needs to be redefined in today’s perspective. The beginning of the day at 12 o’clock in the night does not seem scientific from any point of view. Wishing a bright future for child scientists, he said that along with work for every hand, water for every field, a resolution has been taken to provide research opportunities to every youth. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that our effort is to not only preserve the ancient history and knowledge of India, but also present it from a modern point of view. The jugalbandi of science and culture has kept India prosperous for thousands of years. The time has come to redefine it.

Chief Minister’s Culture Advisor and Veer Bharat Nyas Secretary Dr. Shriram Tiwari said that for the first time in Madhya Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, special attention is being paid to the overall development of the state’s ancient Indian heritage, literature, culture, science, agriculture, water conservation and industry-business. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has given new heights to the efforts to connect science and culture together. In this sequence, two important initiatives have been taken by Veer Bharat Nyas. Purovaak Research Journal will focus on various dimensions of Indian civilization, culture and history. Its first issue underlines the contemporary relevance of India with historical, archaeological and social scientific perspectives. This magazine will try to bring out the relationship between culture and science from a new perspective. Veer Bharat YouTube channel’s new series ‘Maha Dev’ is based on the cosmic and scientific aspects related to Shiva. Mahadev’s Adi Jyotirlinga This presentation based on Mahadevs, Jyotirlingas, Ekadasha Rudras, and cosmic events of the 84 Kalpas so far will bring forth a new thinking. Apart from this, the series ‘Yug Yugin Bharatvanshi’, which focuses on the various tribes who have enriched India with their valor, creativity and socio-cultural values, includes a collection of science and philosophy based concepts embedded in the mythological stories of creation and Puranas. This series highlights the ancient Indian tribes and their social, cultural and scientific contributions. This initiative of Veer Bharat Nyas will prove to be a milestone in the direction of the confluence of Indian tradition and modernity.

Additional Chief Secretary, Science and Technology Department, Mr. Sanjay Dubey gave detailed information regarding the organization of Children’s Science Congress. He said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, innovations are constantly taking place in the field of science and technology in the state. He said that he himself is a 1993 batch IAS officer and he is happy that the National Children’s Science Congress was also started this year in his hometown Gwalior. He said that a green and clean capital like Bhopal is an ideal place for organizing the National Children’s Science Congress.

Director of IIT Indore, Dr. Suhas Joshi said that IIT Indore has developed software for the automation of Dongla’s telescope. With this facility, any citizen of the country can use it from home. He gave detailed information about the work done in the field of science and technology at IIT Indore. He also invited all the child scientists to visit IIT Indore.

Vigyan Bharati’s All India Organization Minister Dr. Shiv Kumar Sharma said that new facts emerge from research and innovation. Vigyan Bharati encourages the use of science and technology for the joy and happiness of the society. It promotes such inventions that increase positivity, peace, happiness, prosperity in the society, as well as find solutions to the current challenges and problems of the environment. He said that it is hoped that the child scientists from all over the country who have come to the National Children’s Science Congress will move forward in this direction in these 4 days.

Secretary, Central Science and Technology, Dr. Abhay Karandikar said that the National Children’s Science Congress was started in the year 1993 from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. It is a flagship program of the Central Government. It gives an opportunity to those child scientific talents to flourish, which will solve the burning problems of the present. According to the theme of this Children’s Science Congress, we will work towards environmental protection. This program will inspire children to connect with new inventions and discoveries in science and technology. All the children from all over the country should take advantage of this opportunity and share their experiences with each other. Dr. Rashmi Sharma thanked all the guests, visitors and child scientists who came to the Science Congress.

Exhibition overview

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the model exhibition of child scientists organized in Ravindra Bhawan premises before the start of the 31st National Children’s Science Congress. He closely observed the science models displayed by the children, wrote remarks in the visitor’s book and praised the child scientists wholeheartedly. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also inaugurated and observed the science picture exhibition organized by the Union Ministry of Science and Technology.
