Chief Minister Inaugurates 5-Day Madho Singh Bhandari Industrial Agricultural Development Fair

Dehradun: On Friday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a 5-day government industrial agricultural development fair in Maletha, Tehri Garhwal, in memory of the brave warrior Madho Singh Bhandari. During the event, the Chief Minister inspected various departmental stalls and saluted a march-past rally organized by local schools and NCC cadets. Before this, he paid his respects at the memorial of Madho Singh Bhandari by offering flowers at his statue and observing the historic irrigation canal he built.At the event, the Chief Minister announced several initiatives, including:
  • Renaming the Maletha intersection after Madho Singh Bhandari.
  • Expanding the fairgrounds dedicated to him.
  • Constructing a building for the primary health center in Silkakhal.
  • Beautifying the Surya Devi Temple in Palehti Bangadh.
  • Building the Raitasi road.
  • Paving the Lalu Dikhal-Farswan village motor road and the Bhainskot motor road.
The Chief Minister honored Madho Singh Bhandari’s unique courage, sacrifice, and dedication, stating that this fair is not just an ordinary event but a special festival that helps keep our cultural heritage alive and serves as an inspiration for future generations. He emphasized that true bravery lies not in power but in service and dedication, as demonstrated by Bhandari’s efforts. The irrigation canal he created under challenging conditions continues to benefit the community today.He also mentioned that the state government is working across various sectors—education, roads, health—to improve the lives of people in Uttarakhand. In Tehri Garhwal, 170 kilometers of crash barriers are being constructed for road safety. An 18-meter long Bailey bridge has been built to replace a bridge washed away in a disaster in Muyalgaon. The construction of a ring road around Tehri Lake is also underway. To combat migration and boost tourism, employment, and trade, the government is creating jobs and promoting self-employment. Farmers and women are being empowered with interest-free loans of up to ₹3 lakh.
