Got low marks in board exams? Don’t panic, NIOS is for you!

Many times it happens that the results in board exams are not as expected. Many students get disappointed due to not getting good marks in 10th or 12th and are worried about their future. But there is no need to panic! National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) of the Government of India is a great option for such students.

What is NIOS and how does it help – NIOS is an open schooling board that gives you the opportunity to complete your studies at home. It is recognized just like CBSE, ICSE or any state board. Therefore, after passing 10th (matriculation) or 12th (10+2) from NIOS, you can apply for any government or private job, IIT-JEE, NEET, UPSC, NDA etc. All the courses of NIOS are online, so you can study as per your convenience.

If you have failed in 10th or are not satisfied with the result – If you have failed in the 10th exam or are not happy with your result, then NIOS gives you another chance. For this, your age should be at least 14 years. If you have already passed 10th but want to improve the result, then you can still take the NIOS exam. The only difference is that those who take the exam for the first time will have to take the exam in at least 5 subjects, while already passed students will have to take the exam in only 4 subjects.

If you have failed in 12th or are not satisfied with the result – The process is the same for 12th as well. You should be at least 15 years old and you should have passed 10th. If you have already passed 12th but want to improve the result, then you can still take the NIOS exam. First-time aspirants will have to appear in a minimum of 5 subjects while previous pass candidates will have to appear in only 4 subjects. There is no upper age limit for admission to NIOS.
