For the quality of school education, all the work related to students should be completed as per the prescribed calendar: School Education Minister Mr. Singh

Bhopal: School Education Minister Mr. Uday Pratap Singh has said that for the quality of school education in the state, it should be ensured that all the work related to students is completed in the prescribed calendar. He praised the online system for teachers’ attendance. Minister Mr. Singh said that online teachers’ attendance should be immediately implemented in Ujjain and Narsinghpur districts as a pilot project. Minister Mr. Singh was addressing the meeting of departmental officers at the Directorate of Public Instruction on Thursday. Secretary School Education Mr. Sanjay Goyal, Commissioner Public Instruction Mrs. Shilpa Gupta, Director State Education Center Mr. Harjinder Singh, MD of Textbook Corporation Mr. Vinay Nigam were specially present in the meeting.
School Education Minister Mr. Singh directed to adopt a sensitive approach in resolving the cases of compassionate appointment pending in the department. He told the officials that special initiatives should be taken to obtain the funds to be received by the state in the central schemes related to school education. Minister Mr. Singh said that such arrangements should be made in the department that the dues of teachers and employees are paid on time after retirement. Arrangements should be made by the department to send prompt action letters on the letters received from public representatives.
status of implementation of the scheme
It was told in the meeting that in the academic session 2025-26, textbooks are to be distributed to 82 lakh students. The work of distribution of 60 percent textbooks has been completed by the department. Arrangements are being made to provide uniforms to about 60 lakh students from class 1 to 8 through DBT. In the meeting, it was informed that the process of distribution of free bicycles, scholarships, laptops, scooties will be done within the time limit. In the meeting, information was given about the upgradation of secondary school to high school, high school to higher secondary school. The process of upgradation will be completed by June 15 this year.
Secretary School Education Dr. Goyal said that in the summer, those schools will be identified which have become dilapidated. Their alternative places, construction of additional rooms and repair works will be done on priority. A provision of Rs 149 crore has been made for repair work and Rs 100 crore for construction of additional classrooms. Information about smart class, ICT lab was also given in the meeting. It was told in the meeting that tablets have been provided to 45 thousand 500 higher secondary and 1 lakh 62 thousand primary teachers. Action is being taken to provide tablets to 75 thousand secondary teachers. Robotics lab is being established in 52 CM Rise schools under Starch Project. Atal Tinkering Lab is being established in 458 PM Shri schools. Furniture arrangement was also discussed in the meeting.
