Fisheries will get the status of industry, facilities will be provided like other industries: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Lord Shri Ram’s friend Maharaj Nishadraj was the first to recognize the supremacy of Shri Ram. The fishermen community does farming in water by risking their lives, it is an act of courage. Fish and fishermen have had a relationship for centuries. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, many schemes are being run in the state through the Fishermen Welfare Board. The state government is giving employment benefits to the youth. Fish farming is also an industry, it will also get all the facilities like other industries. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also performed the Bhoomi Pujan of 453 smart fish parlors at a cost of Rs 22 crore 65 lakh and virtual Bhoomi Pujan of 3360 cage project at Indira Sagar Dam at a cost of about 92 crore. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inspired the fishermen community for a better life. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the state level Nishadraj conference and training program organized at the Kalidas Sanskrit Academy campus in Ujjain on Saturday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also visited the exhibition related to fisheries. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the state level conference by lighting the lamp and offering flowers to the statue of Lord Nishadraj.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that now fish farming is not just a traditional work, it is a modern industry. Investment will increase in it, production will increase and youth will get employment. He said that a state-of-the-art aqua park is being constructed in Bhopal at a cost of 40 crores. The government will give subsidy to fishermen for fish farming. The state government has increased the area of irrigation in the state, which is also benefiting the fishermen. In the previous government, only 7 lakh hectares of land in the state was irrigated, this area has increased to 55 lakh hectares in our government. The area of irrigation will reach 100 lakh hectares with the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) link project. Many ponds will also be built. Fish is a means of livelihood for many people. More than 3 lakh cages will be installed in other reservoirs including Indira Sagar. 430 motorcycles fitted with ice boxes were distributed to the fishermen Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 430 motorcycles have been distributed to the fishermen, which also have ice boxes. At present, fish farming is being done in 4.4 lakh hectares in the state, in the year 2024-25, the fish production of the state was 3.81 lakh metric tonnes. More than 2 lakh fish farmers are registered in the state. Women are also leading in this business. He said that a modern hatchery will be constructed for fish seed production at a cost of 217 crores. This will end the dependence on Bengal for seeds. Our government is working towards making the state a leading state in milk production and fish production. In the changing times, the use of modern machines and startups are starting in the fish farming sector.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in accordance with the resolution of Prime Minister Shri Modi, the state government is dedicated to the welfare of all sections. The time of Rakshabandhan is coming, today is the day to transfer the amount to the accounts of Ladli sisters. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government will run a drug de-addiction campaign in the state from 15 to 30 July. The Chief Minister made the attendees take a pledge to get rid of drug addiction and avoid wasteful expenditure. He said that there is a need to change oneself in the changing times. Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Minister Shri Narayan Singh Panwar said that the state government is making every possible effort for the welfare of fishermen. Many welfare schemes are being run in the state under the leadership and guidance of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. After the formation of a new government in the state, an initiative has been started to bring the backward fishermen community into the mainstream. Fishermen credit cards are being distributed to fishermen for business operations. By the year 2028, the Fishermen Welfare Department will achieve many achievements in the state. M.P. Fishermen Welfare Board Chairman Shri Sitaram Batham said that some Nishad Mangal Bhawans have been built in every district. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Mr. Batham said that the work that was not done in years is now being done in months. This is a proof of the farsightedness and sensitive leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Minister in charge of Ujjain district Mr. Gautam Tetwal, MP Mr. Anil Ferozia, MLA Mr. Anil Jain Kaluhera along with other public representatives and a large number of fish farmers were present in the state level Nishadraj Sammelan.
