Bhopal: Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has said that it is the responsibility of the public prosecutor to present just arguments with integrity and patience. He said that facts are the truth. The law naturally supports arguments based on facts. He told the trainee officers that the knowledge gained in training and the guidance of experienced trainers will be helpful in the challenge of taking the department to greater heights by developing capabilities and efficiency.
Governor Shri Patel was addressing the closing ceremony of the training program of Assistant Public Prosecutors held at Central Police Training Academy (CAPT) Bhopal on Monday. Governor Shri Patel gave training certificates to 10 Assistant Public Prosecutors on this occasion. He also planted a Golden Champa plant in the academy campus.
Governor Shri Patel said that judiciary is the pillar of democracy on which citizens have deep faith. They look at it with utmost respect. The role of prosecution officers in the justice system is very important and multi-faceted. Their responsibility is not limited to filing cases for the victims. They have to punish the guilty and provide justice to the victim by presenting evidence before the court. As a prosecution officer, his role will be important in controlling crime, bringing quality in police investigation, giving legal advice to government departments, getting appeals done in cases and getting compensation for the victims. He said that as a prosecution officer, the deprived, poor and the victim will come to him considering him as the protector of his struggle for justice against atrocities and incest. At that time, his sensitive behavior, sympathy and cooperation will strengthen his faith in justice.
Governor Shri Patel said that they have been selected as Assistant Public Prosecutors after tough competition, because government job is not just a business. It is a pledge of committed service to create a happy future by bringing prosperity in the lives of the deprived and by developing the country, state and society. He congratulated the trainee officers for accepting this challenge as public servants. It is expected that they will set high standards of work with loyalty and honesty in the temple of justice.
Lokayukta Justice Satyendra Kumar Singh said that public peace is the responsibility of the state. For public peace, it is imperative to strengthen the criminal justice system. The role of public prosecutors is very important in this task. He told the trainee officers that the more efficiently and sincerely they discharge the prescribed duties of the prosecution officer to ensure justice, the better the results will be.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr. J. N. Kansotia said that with new ideas and energy, Assistant Public Prosecutors should work as a service and not a job. He also highlighted the role of Public Prosecutors in the justice system and wished them well.
Director of Central Police Training Academy Bhopal, Shri Anil Kishore Yadav gave details of the establishment of the academy, training system and programmes. He informed that their training had started in the academy within 40 hours of the implementation of the new laws. He told the trainee officers that the role of public prosecutors has become very strong in the new law.
Director Public Prosecution Shri B.L. Prajapati said in his welcome address that 45 days of basic training has been provided to Assistant Public Prosecution Officers. He gave details of the training activities. He said that during the training, sessions of yoga and exercise have also been organized along with various aspects of laws.
Joint Director Public Prosecution Shri Rameshwar Kumhare expressed his gratitude in the closing session.
