Fair of devotees in the immersion pond near Mahadev Ghat
Raipur. On the occasion of the holy festival of Anant Chaturdashi in the capital city of Raipur, a fair of Shri Ganesh devotees has started from this morning to immerse the idols of the first revered god Vignaharta Shri Ganesh under the arrangement of immersion pond provided by Municipal Corporation Raipur near Mahadev Ghat. Devotees have gathered to bid farewell to Ganpati Bappa with moist eyes on the last day of the ten-day Shri Ganeshotsav festival, Anant Chaturdashi, by bringing the idols of Shri Ganesh placed in homes and pandals with the help of crane and rolling machine available in the immersion pond of the Municipal Corporation, from 6 am to 6 pm today, in a period of 12 hours near Mahadev Ghat, from 6 am to 6 pm. The process of immersion of Shri Ganesh idols with devotion is being carried out continuously by the devotees at the immersion kund site at a fast pace. The Municipal Corporation Raipur, on the instructions of the Raipur District Administration, in collaboration with the Raipur District Police Administration, in accordance with the directions of the Honorable NGT, Urban Administration and Development Department of Chhattisgarh Government, Chhattisgarh State Environment Protection Board, as per the guidelines of every year, has provided the immersion arrangement in the traditional manner in the immersion kund for the convenience of the devotees. For this, zone-wise duty of officers and employees has been imposed from today, 17 September to 23 September, in three shifts of 8 hours each. Crane, divers, fire brigade, first aid medical camp have been set up. The cooperation of the Home Department, Home Guard, CMHO along with the Municipal Corporation is being provided in the administrative arrangement as per the instructions. For this, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Shri Abinash Mishra has already issued necessary instructions to provide administrative immersion arrangements for Shri Ganesh idols and has formed a committee for this.
