Electricity distribution companies will find ineligible consumers of Atal Jyoti Yojana with the help of geo tagging
Bhopal. All the three electricity distribution companies of Madhya Pradesh will check the actual status of the consumers availing the benefit of Atal Yojana through geo tagging technology in the East Zone, Central Zone and West Zone with the help of Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (MPSEDC). The investigation has been started from the posh areas of Bhopal and Gwalior of the Central Zone Electricity Distribution Company.
Those consumers come under the purview of Atal Jyoti Yojana whose monthly electricity consumption is up to 150 units. Such consumers are given subsidy by the Energy Department. The data of their billing system has been made available to Madhya Pradesh State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (MPSEDC) by all the three electricity distribution companies of Madhya Pradesh. In this work, property data has also been given to MPSEDC by establishing coordination with the Municipal Corporation and Municipality.
The information of electricity consumers will be extracted by MPSEDC through geo tagging and made available to the electricity distribution companies. This will provide information about consumers having large land area and higher price guidelines taking subsidy under Atal Jyoti Yojana. Based on this information, electricity distribution companies will prepare a plan to identify such premises and take action.
With the help of MPSEDC’s MP Geo Portal, data will be extracted by giving a command of registration done on Collector Guidelines and on the second command, information will be received about such consumers who have registered on this guideline and whose monthly electricity consumption is up to 150 units.
Consumers having multiple connections in one premises should merge the connections
Electricity distribution companies have appealed to electricity consumers that those who have multiple connections in their premises should merge the multiple electricity connections and get one electricity connection. For this, they can contact the nearest electricity distribution center or zone office.
