Deputy Chief Minister Saw observed road and building construction works in Washington

Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Saw, who went to America on a study tour, visited road and building construction sites in Washington on Friday and observed the works. He discussed with architects and engineers at the construction sites and got information about the material, metal and machinery used in construction. He met with experts there and studied the new techniques of road and building construction and various stages of construction projects. Public Works Department Secretary Dr. Kamalpreet Singh was also with him during this time.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw met with experts of construction works in Washington and got information about new construction techniques and the steps taken in a phased manner from planning to construction of road and building construction projects in USA. There, the complete design of the building and infrastructure is prepared in the computer using BIM computer system, which not only accurately estimates the material and cost required for their construction, but also helps in the subsequent maintenance work.

Shri Sao said that for the construction of good quality durable roads and buildings in Chhattisgarh, the new technologies and measures prevalent in America will be studied in detail and their implementation will be considered in the Public Works Department. He inquired from experts in Washington about the health and safety measures of construction workers at the work sites. He also studied the measures to be taken to protect the residential areas near the roads from noise pollution. In the USA, a very detailed study is done at the initial DPR level in road construction and building construction projects, so that later problems and delays and cost escalation can be avoided.
