Controversy over Morena violence: Demand to demolish houses of accused, administration cites Supreme Court rules
Morena: In Hingona Khurd village of Civil Line police station area, a fight broke out over playing the sound system during Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar’s procession late Monday night. During this, 24-year-old Sanjay Jatav was shot in the head, due to which he died on the spot. At the same time, a youth named Ranu Jatav was also shot, which hit his hand. The villagers, angry with this incident, did not allow Sanjay’s body to be taken away throughout the night. Finally, at around 1 am, on the complaint of Sanjay’s brother Sumit, the police registered a case against 10 people. A crowd gathered outside the PM House in the morning On Tuesday morning, as soon as people reached to get Sanjay’s post-mortem done, hundreds of people gathered outside the PM House. Everyone had only one demand – the houses of the accused should be demolished. But the administration officials said that under the rules of the Supreme Court, houses cannot be demolished without investigation. That is why people were not allowing the post-mortem of the body.
Case registered against these people The 10 people against whom the police have registered a case include Girraj Gurjar father Jagman, Dharamvir father Punjab, Mahendra father Badri, Bholu father Bhura, Chinga father Patia, Shyamu father Punjab, Tehsila father Badri, Diwan father Ramdayal, Babi father Mahendra and Gabbar father Ramdayal. Cases have been registered against all of them under murder, attempt to murder and SC/ST Act.
The police formed a team the same night and started searching for the accused. During this time, Mahendra, Gabbar and Tehsila Gurjar were arrested. Demands of the deceased’s family Sanjay’s family is demanding compensation from the government, a government job for one member, and a license to keep weapons for the family. Many people including BSP state president Ramakant Pippal, former Congress MLA Satyapal Sikarwar, BSP leader Kuldeep Sikarwar and Vidyaram Kaushal reached the spot and talked about getting justice for the family.
