Civil service is an effective medium of public service: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that civil service is not just a profession, it is an effective medium of public service. He said that it is the duty of civil servants to make good use of their rights without any doubt, but never turn away from their duties . He said that public administration is a vast subject. Its basic mantra is – “Serve the people in every possible way”. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the program organized in the Golden Jubilee Auditorium of RCVP Noronha Academy of Administration and Management on the occasion of National Civil Service Day on Monday.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated all the civil servants of the state on Public Service Day and called upon everyone to remain committed to their responsibilities. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that public service is a big responsibility, which must be fulfilled with full loyalty, dedication and devotion.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honoured 16 selected civil servants (officers) of the state for their outstanding work with the Chief Minister Excellence Award. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated all the awardees for the innovations made by them and encouraged them by giving them a cash prize of Rs one lakh and a citation.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that an efficient civil servant is one who not only follows the rules and regulations of the government, but also understands the difficulties and problems of the public with full sensitivity and also provides them with appropriate solutions. He expected all civil servants to give top priority to prompt service of the citizens and move towards making the government more effective in the direction of public welfare.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that transparency is very important in our work and functioning. That is why all public servants should work towards bringing transparency in the governance system and further strengthening the sense of public accountability.
Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary General Administration Mr. Sanjay Dubey, Keynote Speaker of Naronha Lecture Series Dr. Deepak Bagla, all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and all other senior administrative officers of the State Government were present in the program.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh’s role is important in developed India@2047. The public servants of the state have performed their duties well. There is a need to prepare a plan for good governance by compiling the innovations being done by the officers at the ground level.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while highlighting the role of Chanakya in the establishment and development of the Maurya Empire, said that General Secretary Chanakya had made Emperor Chandragupta Maurya the king and he himself became the minister, so that the system of administration could be run in a better way in a powerful dynasty. He said that Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel expanded the public servant system to lay the foundation of the country’s future after independence and prepared service rules for them. He had underlined three things for public servants – Dignity, Integrity and Incorruptibility.
All public servants should work for corruption free and good governance: Chief Secretary Mr. Jain
Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain said that every year 21st April is a day for introspection for officers/employees. Public servants should think about what good they did for public service and strengthening the administration throughout the year and what can be done better in future. He assured Chief Minister Dr. Yadav that all public servants will leave no stone unturned for the role of the state and developed Madhya Pradesh in fulfilling the mission of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s developed India @ 2047. All the officers of the state are working in mission mode for ease of living and ease of doing business. Chief Secretary Mr. Jain said that along with experienced officers, young officers also have a big responsibility on their shoulders in realizing the dream of New India.
16 public servants received Chief Minister Excellence Award
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has approved the appointment of 16 public servants for the financial year 2022-23 and 2023-24, namely Mr. Madhav Prasad Patel (secondary teacher), Mrs. Aditi Garg (then CEO Ayushman Bharat Niramaya Yojana), Dr. Indira Dangi (teacher) Ashta district Sehore, Mrs. Sharda Dudve (secondary teacher) Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar, Mr. Alok Puranik primary teacher Patharia district Damoh, Mr. Chandramohan Thakur then Managing Director Building Development Corporation, Dr. Yashpal Singh Principal Residential School Bhopal, Mr. Sanjay Joshi Managing Director Electricity Distribution Company Limited, Mr. Amit Tomar then Managing Director West Zone Electricity Distribution Company Indore, Mr. Rishabh Gupta former Collector Dewas, Mr. Ganesh Shankar Mishra then Managing Director Electricity Distribution Company, Mr. Divyank Singh then CEO Smart City Project Indore, Mr. Praveen Singh Adhayach former Collector Sehore, Prof. Chief Minister Excellence Awards were given to Bela Sachdeva, Assistant Professor, Indore, Mr. Bhupendra Kumar Chaudhary, Secondary Teacher, Chimnakhari, District Seoni and Ms. Sheela Dahima, Additional Secretary, Education Department for innovations and excellent work.
Noronha Lecture Series held at Academy of Administration
On the occasion of Civil Services Day Celebration 2025, Naronha Lecture Series has been organized in the Academy of Administration, in which officers and employees from all over the state participated. The keynote speaker of the lecture, Dr. Deepak Bagla, shared his experiences related to good governance for a developed India with the officers present in the auditorium. Director of the Academy of Administration, Mr. Mujibur Rahman expressed his gratitude to all the guests and participants.
