Transport department’s arrangement for checking interstate vehicles
Bhopal. Temporary checking points have been set up for vehicles entering the state from interstate borders. This arrangement has been made keeping in view the convenience of motor owners. Earlier, integrated checkposts were working at interstate borders. At these checkposts, various departments, mainly minerals, forest, transport and other departments, were being checked. Due to the joint checking work, vehicles coming from other states were facing difficulties. In view of this problem, now the Transport Department is checking transport related documents at 45 checkpoints. With this arrangement, the complaints received during checking at the checkpost have almost ended.
Inspection work at checkpoint
Inspectors of the Transport Department are continuously checking the fitness, tax, insurance, registration and license of the vehicle at temporary checkpoints. Sufficient number of inspectors and employees of the department have been deployed for checking work at the checkpoint.
Efforts to make departmental activities people-oriented
The Transport Department has displayed the departmental activities and the forms used by the general public, the prevailing rules and related material on the department’s website www.transport.mp.gov.in to make it accessible to the general public. The system has been made more transparent by transferring the departmental website to the MP.GOV.IN domain and the department’s data center to the state data center.
