Chardham Yatra 2025: Registration Starts from March 2, Check Important Dates
The opening dates for Uttarakhand’s world-famous Chardham—Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath—have been finalized, and preparations at both government and administrative levels are now in full swing. Registrations for the pilgrimage will begin on March 2, and all necessary arrangements for the process have been completed. This year, the Chardham Yatra will commence from April 30. On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, the auspicious date for the opening of Kedarnath temple was decided at the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath, the winter seat of Lord Kedarnath. The doors of Kedarnath temple will open on May 2 at 7 AM, while Badrinath Dham will open on May 4. The Gangotri and Yamunotri temples will welcome devotees from April 30, on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya.
Registration is Mandatory for Pilgrims
To undertake the Chardham Yatra, registration is mandatory. Pilgrims can register both online and offline.
- Online Registration:
- Pilgrims can register via the Tourist Care Uttarakhand website: https://registrationandtouristcare.uk.gov.in/.
- Aadhaar Card is required for registration.
- The Tourist Care Uttarakhand mobile app can be downloaded from the Play Store or App Store for easy registration.
- Offline Registration:
- Offline registration will start 10 days before the yatra begins.
Important Guidelines for Pilgrims
- Due to the expected high footfall, there will be temporary restrictions on VIP darshan and travel in the initial days.
- Devotees are advised not to rush their journey and plan accordingly.
- Registration for Kedarnath Helicopter Services is also mandatory, and a separate announcement will be made regarding dates and procedures.
- To avoid scams, pilgrims should register only through the official government website.
