Chardham Yatra 2025: Huge crowd of devotees in June, more than 80 thousand devotees visiting daily

The holy land of Uttarakhand has once again become buzzing with the faith of devotees. The start of the Chardham Yatra may have been a little slow this time, but as soon as the weather cleared a bit in June, the crowd of devotees has thronged. Every day more than 80 thousand people are heading to the mountains to see Baba. In the initial days, the pace of the journey was slow due to rain and Mahakumbh. But now the situation has changed. So far the total number of people visiting Chardham has reached close to 25 lakhs. Due to rain, while only 60 to 65 thousand devotees were reaching Chardham every day in May, now this number has crossed 80 thousand. According to the data of the Tourism Department, the number of devotees registering has also crossed the figure of 40 lakhs. These figures clearly show that the faith in the people is the same as before, just the weather was causing a little hindrance.

Why was the journey slow in the beginning this time – There were many reasons behind the slow start of this year’s Char Dham Yatra. The first reason was the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. Lakhs of people gathered there, due to which fewer devotees reached Uttarakhand. The second reason was the effect of Indo-Pak tension and war-like situations, which forced people to postpone the journey for a while. And the third big reason was – continuous rain in Uttarakhand. Due to continuous rain, roads were blocked at many places and bad weather also prevented people from climbing the mountain. In the month of May, the number of devotees coming daily had come down to below 60 thousand many times. But with the beginning of June, the weather started cooperating a bit and devotees once again set out to see God.

How did the figure of 80 thousand per day cross – As June started, the weather stabilized a bit. The condition of roads in all four Dhams improved and the government further strengthened the arrangements related to health, transport, and darshan. This gave people a favorable environment for the journey and the result is in front of us – the number of devotees has crossed 80 thousand per day. Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj has also confirmed this increasing number and expressed confidence that as the monsoon approaches, people’s participation will increase even more. He said that although the beginning was light, now the number of devotees is increasing every day.

Government’s special focus on the safety of devotees – According to Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, this time special attention is being given to health services during the Yatra. So far, more than five lakh pilgrims have been screened. Medical staff is deployed at every stop and every Dham so that any emergency can be dealt with. The focus of the government is that the devotees do not face any kind of problem. For this, online registration, helpline number, traffic control, and food arrangements have also been improved. Health department teams are active at every Dham and the health of the pilgrims is being constantly checked.

Crowd gathered at Badrinath Dham on Sunday – On Sunday, a huge crowd of devotees was seen at the holy Badrinath Dham located in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. Since morning, thousands of devotees were waiting in queues for darshan. The pictures here also went viral on social media and became an example of people’s faith. This year’s Chardham Yatra shows that no matter how many obstacles there are, people’s faith never diminishes. And when the weather, government and arrangements cooperate, then no one can stop you from having darshan of God.
