CG NEWS: Detailed guidelines issued for Shri Ramlala Darshan Scheme

Raipur. The Tourism Department of the State Government has issued detailed guidelines to the collectors for the implementation of Shri Ramlala Darshan Scheme. A district level committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Collector for selection of beneficiaries for the yatra and other work. Gram Panchayat and urban bodies will send the list of interested applicants for the scheme to the Collector. A prescribed format has been given to apply in which a document for proof of residence along with a photograph will have to be submitted.

Under Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana, a person above 65 years of age, who has applied to travel alone, will be eligible to take an assistant along with him on the journey. On application by a group of persons, a group of 3 to 5 persons will be eligible to carry one attendant along with the said group, provided that every person in this group is above 65 years of age. In large groups, assistants will be recognized at the rate of 1 per 05 passengers. If husband and wife are traveling together, there will be no facility to take an assistant along, provided one of them is below 65 years of age.

If the name of one of the applicant’s spouse is selected, his/her life partner will also be able to accompany him on the journey. While applying, the applicant will have to mention that his life partner is also willing to travel with him, in such a situation the application of the said life partner will also have to be attached with the applicant’s application. If there is eligibility to take an assistant along with him on the journey, then the application of that assistant will also be submitted along with the applicant.

If a group of individuals apply together, the entire group will be considered one application and included in the lottery. The said group can be of maximum 10 applicants. One applicant of the group will be called the head of the group. Applications of all other applicants will be submitted along with their application. If the persons included in the said group are eligible to take helpers, then the applications of the proposed helpers will also be attached with this application. The number of people included in the group, including assistants, will not exceed 10. In case the assistant is taken on a journey, he will also get the same facilities as the passenger. For the convenience of the passengers, the process of online application as per the prescribed form is also being prepared. So that a data base of selected passengers and waiting list can be prepared in each district.
The process of selection of passengers has also been determined. Among the applicants willing to travel, in the first phase, persons aged 55 years or above will be selected on priority. The remaining applicants will be given the journey in the coming time. The minimum age of the beneficiary for the scheme will be 18 years and maximum age will be 75 years. 25 percent beneficiaries of this scheme will be from urban areas and 75 percent beneficiaries will be from rural areas. Passengers will be selected according to the available quota from the applications received for traveling to each place. If more number of applications are received than the prescribed quota, passengers will be selected by lottery. A waiting list of 25 percent additional persons against the quota will also be made. In case the selected passenger does not go on the journey, the person included in the waiting list can be sent on the journey.

While drawing the lottery, along with the applicant’s application, his wife or husband (if they have also applied for the journey) and assistant (if the assistant is eligible and the assistant has also submitted an application to go on the journey) are considered as one. A lottery will be held and on being selected in the lottery, the number of berths and seats available for the journey will be reduced by that amount. In case of applying in a group, the members of the entire group and their assistants (if the assistant is eligible and the assistant has also submitted an application for the journey) will be considered as one application and will be included in the lottery. In case of group selection in lottery, the number of berths and seats will be reduced from the number of available berths and seats, assuming selection as per the number of applicants included in the group.

The selected passengers and waiting list will be circulated on the notice board of the Collector’s office, through the concerned Gram Panchayat and urban body and through such other means as deemed appropriate. Only the person who has been selected will be able to go on the journey, he will not be able to take any other unauthorized person with him. And after selection, if that person does not go on the journey, he will not be able to send any other person in his place. The list of travelers selected by the Collector will be sent to Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. List by Tourism Board IRCTC Or will be sent to other selected agency.

By the district administration of each district, the selected passengers of their district will be sent from their place of residence to the prescribed place at block level or tehsil level, and to the prescribed railway station/bus stoppage in their district, on the scheduled date and time of departure of the train or bus. It will be ensured that they will be brought free of cost in a suitable vehicle an hour before and after the completion of the return journey, it will be the responsibility of the district administration to drop the passengers from the railway station, bus stoppage designated for the district to the pre-determined place at the tehsil and block level.
