Captain Miller To Ayalaan, 8 Tamil And Telugu Pongal Releases You Can’t Miss

Pongal is celebrated with great enthusiasm across India, especially down South. This year, the 4-day harvest festival celebration will begin on January 15. On this special occasion, eight Tamil and Telugu films will be released for movie lovers. Today, let’s take a look at those films that are going to hit theatres on the occasion of Pongal this year.

1. Captain Miller (Tamil): This upcoming Tamil-language action adventure film, directed by Arun Matheswaran and starring Dhanush in the title role, is scheduled to be released worldwide on January 12, in the week of Pongal, in both IMAX and 2D formats. The film also features Priyanka Arul Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Sundeep Kishan, John Kokken, and Edward Sonnenblick in the supporting roles.

2. Ayalaan (Tamil): This science fiction film, directed by R Ravikumar and produced by Kotapadi J. Rajesh under KJR Studios, is all set to hit theatres on January 12. The movie features Sivakarthikeyan, Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Bhanupriya, Yogi Babu, Karunakaran, and Bala Saravanan in the lead roles.

3. Mission-Chapter 1 (Tamil): Directed by AL Vijay, Mission-Chapter 1 has entered the Pongal competition at the last minute. The Arun Vijay-starrer will hit screens on January 12.

4. Merry Christmas (Tamil and Hindi): This thriller film directed by Sriram Raghavan stars Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi as the main leads. The film will release on January 12. It was simultaneously shot in Hindi and Tamil.

5. Guntur Kaaram (Telugu): Mahesh Babu’s Guntur Kaaram is hitting the screens on January 13 on the occasion of Sankranti. It is directed by Trivikram Srinivas.

6. Saindhav (Telugu): This action thriller film is written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu and stars Venkatesh Daggubati in the lead role. Saindhav is scheduled to be released in theatres worldwide on January 13, coinciding with Makar Sankranti.

7. Naa Saami Ranga (Telugu): This period action drama film directed by Vijay Binni features Nagarjuna, Allari Naresh, Raj Tarun, Ashika Ranganath, and Jisshu Sengupta as the titular characters. The movie is loosely based on real events that occurred during the 1980s and 1990s in Thrissur and is set to release worldwide on January 14.

8. HanuMan (Telugu): This superhero film is written and directed by Prasanth Varma. It features an ensemble cast of Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raj Deepak Shetty, and Vinay Rai. It is scheduled to release on January 12 on the occasion of Sankranti.
