Delhi. From the snow-clad peaks of Kashmir to the sun-drenched beaches of Kanyakumari, the echo of the name Ram has created an atmosphere of devotion across India. Now this devotion is taking concrete form in the form of the historical Ram temple in Ayodhya. This glorious temple stands as a symbol of unity and devotion of India, this temple is unique not only in grandeur but also in the contribution received from the country and abroad. PM Modi’s ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative seems to be deeply linked with this temple. This temple is a testament to the unwavering faith and generosity that unites the entire nation to visit a temple beyond any border.

The main part of the temple is decorated with royalty. It is adorned with the pristine white splendor of Makrana marble from Rajasthan. The exquisite carvings of the deities in this temple have been done on Charmothi sandstone of Karnataka. Whereas, pink sandstone from Bansi Paharpur of Rajasthan has been used in the grand shapes of the entrance gate.

The contribution of devotees to this temple goes far beyond the construction materials. Gujarat’s generosity is reflected in the temple in the form of a magnificent 2100 kg Ashtadhatu bell which will echo the divine tune in its halls. Along with this divine bell, Gujarat has also gifted a 700 kg chariot prepared by All India Darbar Samaj carrying a special ‘Nagada’. The black stone used in making the idol of Lord Rama has come from Karnataka. Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura from the foothills of the Himalayas have introduced intricately carved wooden doors and handmade structures, which stand as gateways to the divine realm.

The list of contributions to this grand and divine temple does not end here. The brass utensils came from Uttar Pradesh and the polished teak wood came from Maharashtra. The story of this Ram temple is not just about the material and its geographical origin. This is the story of countless thousands of talented craftsmen and artisans who have poured their heart, soul and skills into this sacred endeavor of building the temple.

Ram temple is not just a monument in Ayodhya; This is a living testimony of the unifying power of faith. Every stone, every carving, every bell, every structure tells the story of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ that connects hearts in a collective spiritual journey beyond geographical boundaries.
