CG NEWS: Notice to Devendra Yadav from High Court, know the reason

Bilaspur. The High Court on Wednesday issued notice to Congress MLA from Bhilai Nagar Devendra Yadav in connection with an election petition. This petition has been filed by BJP candidate and former Legislative Assembly Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey through advocate Shailendra Shukla.

In this petition, the election of Devendra Yadav has been challenged on the basis of hiding important information regarding property and criminal cases in the affidavit. After hearing senior advocate Dr Nirmal Shukla on behalf of Prem Prakash Pandey, a single bench of Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey issued notice to Devendra Yadav and fixed March 20 as the next hearing date of the case. The lawyer argued that suppressing information about criminal cases and assets is a violation of the provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, thereby rendering the election of the candidate illegal.
