To improve higher education, the state government is committed to strengthen universities: Higher Education Minister Parmar

Bhopal: Higher Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar held a meeting of the “Committee constituted regarding financial strengthening of universities” and “Committee constituted for recruitment, appointment, pension etc. of university professors” constituted in compliance with the decision of the council of ministers in the conference hall located at the Secretariat on Thursday and held extensive discussions on various points. The “Committee constituted regarding financial strengthening of universities” presented the final report of recommendations after in-depth discussion on strengthening the financial system of the university and other points. Parmar said that after departmental scrutiny of the recommendations contained in the report received by the committee, efforts would be made for their effective implementation. In the meeting, the “Committee constituted for recruitment, appointment, promotion, pension etc. of university professors”, after extensive deliberation on maintaining uniformity in various subjects related to recruitment, appointment, promotion, pension etc. of university professors like colleges, as per the parameters of University Grants Commission (UGC), presented the final report. Minister Parmar gave necessary guidelines after extensive discussion on various points of the final report.

Higher Education Minister Parmar said that making a developed India by 2047, the centenary year of independence, is the pledge of the entire country. Only through education can the country be made the leader on the world stage again. For this, universities need to be empowered and strengthened. To make higher education progressively better, the state government is working with commitment for strengthening universities. Parmar said that universities should prepare an ideal revenue model for autonomous economic strengthening. There was also a discussion on making an action plan to invest funds for short term and long term. Parmar said that all universities should complete the recruitment and appointment process for the vacant posts soon. He directed all universities to complete the recruitment process for the vacant posts as soon as possible, as per rules and by following all the necessary parameters and standards. Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Anupam Rajan, Chairman of the “Committee constituted for financial strengthening of universities” Prof. RP Tiwari, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Punjab and Chairman of the “Committee constituted for recruitment, appointment, pension etc. of university professors” and Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya University Dr Bharat Mishra along with various members of both the above 11-member committees, Vice Chancellors, their representatives and Coordination Officer Higher Education Anil Pathak were present in the meeting.
