As per the instructions of Mayor Ejaz Dhebar, Water Works Department Chairman Satnam Singh Panag, Commissioner Abinash Mishra, the Water Works Department of the Municipal Corporation is providing pure chlorine containing drinking water to all the residents of the capital, living in the areas of 70 wards under all the 10 zones of the Municipal Corporation Raipur. In order to ensure continuity of supply along with regular monitoring, after the rainy season, special cleaning of the reservoirs of Raipur Municipal Corporation area is done by chemically disinfecting the walls of the reservoirs, chemical spray cleaning of the valves and cleaning the seal in the reservoir. The work has been started. Today, on the second day, the Municipal Corporation Water Works Department sent a special team of workers to the 1000 kiloliter capacity water tank located in Kukurbeda under Dr. Ishwari Charan Shukla Ward area under Municipal Corporation Zone No. 7 and chemically disinfected the walls of the water tank and the valve. A special cleaning campaign was started and completed after regular morning water supply by cleaning the seal of the water tank including cleaning with chemical spray. Daily special cleaning of a reservoir will be completed by chemically disinfecting its walls, cleaning the valves with chemical spray, cleaning the seal of the concerned water tank and starting after regular morning water supply from the concerned reservoir. A special cleaning campaign to clean the seal of the reservoir by chemically disinfecting the walls of all 43 reservoirs/water tanks located under Raipur Municipal Corporation area and cleaning the valves with chemical spray will be organized by 15 February 2024 by sending a special team of laborers to the city. The Municipal Corporation Water Works Department has set a target to ensure completion.
