Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and JETRO President Mr. Kataoka held detailed discussions on Japanese investment in Madhya Pradesh

bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav held detailed discussions with Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) President Mr. Susumu Kataoka and his delegation in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Various aspects of possibilities and cooperation regarding investment by Japanese companies in Madhya Pradesh were discussed in the meeting.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that JETRO has 5 offices in India in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Ahmedabad, but it has no office in Madhya Pradesh. He proposed JETRO to set up an office in the state so that the dialogue and cooperation between Japanese companies and the state government can be made more effective. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh, due to its strategic location, strong infrastructure and favorable industrial environment, is an ideal place for Japanese investors. He said that the state falls in a “low seismic zone”, which ensures security and stability of investment here. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that the Madhya Pradesh government is bringing special policies for the semiconductor, AVGC (animation, visual effects, gaming and comics), extended reality (XR), and global captive center (GCC) sectors, which can be benefited by Japanese companies. He mentioned that the country’s leading IT companies like TCS, Infosys, LTI Mind-Tree are already operating in the state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that there is a favorable environment for automobile and auto component manufacturing in the state. He said that if a major passenger car manufacturer invests in Madhya Pradesh, this sector of the state will become stronger. He expected cooperation from JETRO in this direction. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav proposed to JETRO to organize investment promotion programs and seminars in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh government, so that Japanese companies can get information about the state’s investment policies and industrial opportunities. He requested JETRO to motivate more than 1400 Japanese companies operating in India to invest in Madhya Pradesh.
JETRO Chairman Mr. Susumu Kataoka said that the upcoming ‘Global Investors Summit’ will be an important platform for Japanese companies to understand investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh and establish new partnerships. He said that JETRO will invite as many Japanese companies as possible to this event and will work towards increasing investment cooperation with the Madhya Pradesh government. JETRO can especially help us in the fields of IT, Fintech, Medical Devices, Electronics, Auto Components, Energy, Mining etc. The state is committed to providing specific industrial parks, industrial housing, customized financial assistance packages and pre-approved approvals for Japanese industries. JETRO can help the department in determining specific financial assistance packages according to the needs of such units. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav invited the JETRO delegation to attend the Global Investors Summit to be held in Bhopal on 24-25 February 2025. He suggested JETRO to participate in this summit along with Japanese companies and evaluate investment opportunities in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also invited the JETRO delegation to visit places of cultural and historical importance in Madhya Pradesh, such as Sanchi, so that they can understand the cultural heritage of the state closely. In the meeting, both sides expressed commitment to further strengthen investment and business cooperation in future. JETRO assured to maintain continuous dialogue with the Madhya Pradesh government in this regard and cooperate in materializing the investment possibilities.
