Priority is to create courses as per the requirement of society and industry: Technical Education Minister Parmar
Bhopal. A meeting of the task force constituted for the implementation of National Education Policy-2020 under the Technical Education Department was held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Polytechnic College, Bhopal on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Technical Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar. In the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the current scenario and the upcoming action plan.
Minister Shri Parmar said that India has been the best in the world in the field of hard work and education. We all need to awaken a sense of pride in our glorious history, philosophy and glorious knowledge tradition. There is a need to awaken the feeling of Indianness in the social environment. Indian society has been a society skilled in traditional skills. Shri Parmar said that implementation should be done in the direction of enriching traditional skills with modern technology in technical education. Indian knowledge tradition should be factually included in technical education as per the need of the era. Shri Parmar asked to prepare an action plan for the preservation of local and traditional skills and techniques. Every possible implementation should be done to make the technical education of the state better and the best, so that the state can be established as an effective state in technical education in the country. Shri Parmar said that the solution to the questions of the society is possible only through education. Employment-oriented courses should be created on priority as per the need of the society and industries. Shri Parmar said that everyone’s participation is necessary to make India the leader on the world stage again in the field of knowledge.
Minister Shri Parmar gave necessary guidelines by discussing in detail various points including the provisions and implementation made by AICTE under the National Education Policy, revision of courses in accordance with the National Education Policy, inclusion of latest courses, Multi-Disciplinary Education, Academic Bank of Credit (ABC), Credit Framework, Student Performance Index and ranking of institutions. Shri Parmar also gave instructions for implementation by holding extensive discussions on various topics including multiple entry and multiple exit in technical educational institutions, online and digital education, Indian Knowledge Tradition (IKS) and value education, research and investigation, curriculum in mother tongue (Hindi), books and examinations, translation of books in mother tongue, employment, startup and entrepreneurship, digital university and coding lab. Shri Parmar also directed for all management and quality improvements required for better ranking of engineering and polytechnic colleges at the national level.
Secretary, Technical Education Skill Development and Employment Raghuraj MR presented the roadmap of the current scenario and future action plan in the context of implementation of National Education Policy-2020. He highlighted various points including development of human capacity, skill development and focus on life long learning in line with the objective of National Education Policy. Expert Dr. Ramakant Pandey, Director, Center of Policy Research and Governance, New Delhi gave important and visionary suggestions for the implementation of National Education Policy in technical education. Expert Dr. Sadanand Damodar Sapre, Professor (Retired) NIT, Bhopal presented his views on Indian knowledge tradition and inclusive education in the context of National Education Policy. Mr. Sapre said that National Education Policy will determine our future, it should be implemented with this idea. Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Rupam Gupta made a detailed presentation of the work done by the university and the upcoming action plan. Industry representatives emphasized on curriculum development in accordance with the industry.
