Bhopal: Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel said that as much as it is important for the police to maintain law and order, it is equally important to strengthen the image of a public-friendly person. Therefore, it is important that “your presence among the public becomes a symbol of trust.” Governor Shri Patel was addressing the 77th probationary trainee officers of the Indian Police Service. Governor’s Principal Secretary Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari and DGP’s Principal Staff Officer Shri Vineet Kapoor were also present at the program organized at Raj Bhavan. Officers from friendly nations Bhutan, Nepal and Maldives also participated in this training program as part of their India tour. Governor Shri Patel said that police service is a big responsibility, which includes discipline, honesty, impartiality, sensitivity and public service. The general public sees the police as the protector of law and order and the provider of justice. He said that the powers and privileges received as an IPS officer are the means of serving the last person in the society. Therefore, always keep public service at the center during your service period.
Reducing cyber crime is an important responsibility Governor Shri Patel said that cyber crime is one of the biggest challenges of the present times. Reducing it is an important responsibility of all of you. For this, continuous public awareness and innovation of public communication is necessary. He said that whenever you go to remote areas, be friendly and sensitive towards the poor, deprived and weaker sections. Use your education and intelligence in the service of the public. Trainee officer Shri Narayan Upadhyay welcomed Governor Shri Patel by presenting a plant. Shri Upadhyay also gave detailed information about various training programs under the Bharat tour. Trainee officers Ms. Neepa Manocha and Shri Rahul R. Atram felicitated him by presenting a memento. Trainee officer Ms. Sushma Sagar expressed gratitude. The program was conducted by A.I.G.
