Were selling sweets in the name of Prasad of Ram temple, now notice issued
Delhi. The Central Consumer Protection Authority has issued a notice to Amazon in the case of selling sweets in the name of Prasad of Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya. A complaint in this regard was lodged by the Confederation of All India Traders. On the basis of which this action has been taken.
It has been alleged in the complaint that Amazon is taking wrong business steps by selling sweets in the name of Prasad of Shri Ram Temple Ayodhya. The department has said that a reply has been sought from Amazon regarding this matter within 7 days from the date of issue of notice.
CCPA says that if Amazon does not respond within 7 days, then necessary action will be taken against it under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act 2019. Let us tell you that under the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules 2020, allowing online sale of food items showing wrong information confuses consumers about the real information about the product.
