Weather Update: The weather in Uttarakhand has taken a turn, with bright sunshine across the mountains and plains leading to a significant rise in temperatures. Places like Mukteshwar and New Tehri are experiencing chilly nights, similar to Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar. The weather department has indicated that we might see some partial clouds rolling in this evening.Currently, the weather remains dry, and the sunny conditions have pushed temperatures up by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius above normal across the state. Nighttime temperatures in the mountains are also notably high. In hill stations like New Tehri and Mukteshwar, the nights are still cold, but the forecast suggests that we could see some clouds tonight, with the possibility of rain and snow in certain areas on Monday, which may lead to a drop in temperatures. In most areas, including Dehradun, the weather has stayed dry. However, morning fog and mist have reduced visibility in the plains. The mountain regions are also experiencing frost at night. The bright sunshine throughout the day has made it feel warmer, but the chill remains in the mornings and evenings. The temperature in the mountains has risen significantly, making the sun feel quite intense during the day.In New Tehri and Mukteshwar, the minimum nighttime temperatures are hovering around 9 to 10 degrees Celsius, which is about 7 degrees Celsius higher than normal. Meanwhile, in the plains, including Dehradun and Udham Singh Nagar, the minimum temperatures are below 8 degrees Celsius, but still 1 to 2 degrees Celsius above the usual levels. Mukteshwar has seen a remarkable increase in temperatures due to the bright sunshine, with maximum temperatures rising by 10 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures by 7 degrees Celsius. On Saturday, Mukteshwar recorded a maximum temperature of 22.1 degrees Celsius, the highest for January in the last 34 years. The previous record for January was 23 degrees Celsius on January 24, 1990.
