Water is life: It is everyone’s responsibility to save every drop of water: Deputy Chief Minister Shukla

Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in charge of Sagar district Rajendra Shukla has said that it is our duty to preserve the water sources established around historical temples like river, pond, stepwell, well, etc. Today, many of these water sources are almost on the verge of extinction and are also highly polluted. Water is an integral part of life and it is our need and responsibility to save every drop of it. We all should preserve every kind of water source. Deputy Chief Minister Shukla participated in the cleaning work of the ancient water source along with public representatives in the premises of Bhuteshwar temple in Sagar in the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla started the cleaning and renovation campaign by removing garbage from the ancient stepwell well built in Bhuteshwar temple. He took information about the development work of the premises and said that the conservation of ancient Siddha sites and temples is important. It was told that Bhuteshwar Mahadev temple is being built with stones on the lines of Somnath temple. He said that under the Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan, Nagar Palika Nigam Sagar is cleaning about 100 wells and making them useful again. The cleaning and renovation work being done to make their water potable and the conservation of historical water sources is commendable. MLA Shailendra Jain, Mayor Sangeeta Sushil Tiwari, Corporation President Vrindavan Ahirwar along with local public representatives and departmental officers/employees were present.
