Vanvasi Vikas Samiti provided coaching, four archers from Naxalite area will now learn the tricks of archery in the state academy

Raipur. Four youths from Naxalite-affected Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts have been selected for the State Archery Sports Academy with the coaching of Vanvasi Vikas Samiti. Now all four of them will learn the nuances of archery in the residential archery sports academy run by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the state government. These four archers have been trained by the trainers of Vanvasi Vikas Samiti in Raipur at Eklavya Sports Project. These archers have been selected in Raipur on the basis of battery test and sports skill training and performance of players aged 13 to 17 years from all districts of the state. Khilesh Bhadre from Naxalite violence-affected Kondagaon district and Rahul Usendi, Mukesh Mandavi and Avinash Kavde from Narayanpur district took archery coaching in the Vanvasi Vikas Samiti’s sports project in Raipur and now all four of them have been selected in the State Archery Academy. These four emerging archers will now get three years of training at the State Academy. All the training related to archery including food arrangements and accommodation in the academy will be completely free.

It is known that under the Eklavya Khelkund Project, Vanvasi Vikas Samiti had organized a 20-day archery training class from 10 to 30 May 2024. Boys and girls aged 12 to 16 years participated in this class and took basic training in archery. Out of these, four players have been selected for training at the State Academy. Vanvasi Vikas Samiti has wished all the selected players.
