Two Arms Smugglers Arrested in Barwani, Police Recover 9 Pistols and 14 Guns
Barwani: The Niwali police have taken significant action against illegal weapons as part of Operation Prahar. They arrested two arms traffickers from Rajasthan and seized illegal weapons from them. The police are currently interrogating both suspects. According to Police Superintendent Jagdish Daur, these weapons were being smuggled for a major incident. The Barwani police successfully thwarted this operation. Under Operation Prahar, the Niwali police arrested two criminals from Rajasthan who were transporting illegal firearms. They confiscated a total of 23 weapons, which included nine pistols, 14 country-made guns, 11 live cartridges, four empty magazines, and two iPhones, with an estimated total value of around ₹3.25 lakh.
The police received a tip-off about two individuals loitering near the Niwali barrier. Acting on this information, a team led by Sub-Inspector Ramkrishna Lawanshi was dispatched to the area. They managed to surround and apprehend the two suspicious individuals based on the description provided by the informant. The arrested traffickers have been identified as Shivam, also known as Shiva, son of Gopisinh Rawat, from Rooparel village in Ajmer district, Rajasthan, and Iqbal, son of Shankar Khan, from Nada Ki Badi village, also in Ajmer district. They revealed that all these illegal weapons were supplied by a person named Veer Paji from Umrathi in the Varla police area. The investigation is ongoing.
