Transparency, honesty and innovation will strengthen the cooperative movement: Minister Sarang

BHOPAL: Cooperative Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang has said that the cooperative movement can be strengthened through transparency, honesty and innovation. For this, the entire cooperative team should work with determination. Minister Shri Sarang was addressing the state level cooperative workshop on various aspects of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India on the occasion of International Cooperative Year-2025 at Samanvay Bhavan on Wednesday. Minister Shri Sarang said that to strengthen the cooperative movement, it is necessary to strengthen PACS. For this, divisional and district officers should inspect the subordinate PACS. Headquarters officers should also be given divisional responsibility, who should pay attention to the problems and suggestions of their subordinates. He said that PACS can play an important role in generating new employment opportunities for the economy. Minister Shri Sarang said that Self Help Group is an excellent example of co-operation. He said that along with the credit movement, there is a need to focus on various dimensions of co-operation. The face of co-operation is changing under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Ministry of Co-operation has been formed to strengthen the co-operative movement.
Minister Mr. Sarang informed that Union Cooperative Minister Mr. Amit Shah has said that happiness can be brought to the homes of the poor only through cooperation. Cooperation is such a network through which new employment opportunities can be created in every home. Work for the credibility of cooperation. People are remembered for good works. Work done with honesty gives self-satisfaction, hence job satisfaction is important.
Minister Shri Sarang said that Madhya Pradesh had the best presentation in the presentation given to the Central Government recently. He congratulated the entire team for this. He said that Madhya Pradesh’s innovation wing and CPPP model have received a lot of praise. Not only this, Madhya Pradesh has also been number one in the country in the direction of computerization, which is commendable. Minister Shri Sarang said that commitment proves efficiency. Everyone should work with teamwork. Uniformity is important. Only clean and honest work will become your identity, which will make you famous. If you are honest for your job, you will be successful. Minister Shri Sarang initially introduced himself to the officers who had come from the division and districts and also gave instructions to issue show-cause notices to the officers who were absent without informing.
The goal is to strengthen PACS: ACS Shri Varnbal Additional Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Varnbal said that it is necessary for every PACS to do three activities apart from credit. Business has to be increased by looking for opportunities in the local background. Divisional and District Officers will have to review each PACS in a timely manner. He said that the goal should be to strengthen the PACS. The members of business societies should have accounts with us. Along with this, arrangements for micro ATMs will have to be ensured for them. Cooperative Commissioner and Registrar Mr. Manoj Pushp said that in this era of positive change in cooperatives, officers should recognize their important role and discharge their responsibilities. Modelization of cooperatives should be implemented on the ground. Officers should follow up the progress in their leadership and play an active role in making PACS a business unit. Apex Bank Managing Director Mr. Manoj Kumar Gupta gave information about the activities of the workshop in his welcome address. Deputy Secretary Mr. Manoj Sinha informed about the instructions given by the Central Government. On this occasion, Joint Commissioner of Cooperative Department, Deputy Commissioner, Chief Executive Officers of District Cooperative Banks and Committee Managers along with other senior officials were present.
