The whole country is celebrating the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai – Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that nothing is more important than the nation. The interest of the nation is paramount. Women in India were empowered even when they had fewer rights and are equally empowered today when they have all the rights. Maharani Durgavati and Devi Ahilyabai not only ruled with their courage, valour, valour and skill but also set an example in strengthening the administrative system. The life of both was not easy, there were many types of struggles, obstacles, difficulties, hardships in their lives, yet they did not give up and ultimately they achieved their goal by fighting and struggling with all the difficulties. This is the reason why today we know them for their valour. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was having a heartfelt conversation with the girl students at the Women’s Polytechnic College in Bhopal on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav held ‘CM ki Pathshaala’ in the classroom of the students of Fashion Technology Department of the college and interacted with all the girls like a Guru and a father. The Chief Minister enhanced the knowledge of the students by highlighting the complete life story of Maharani Durgavati and Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai of Madhya Pradesh in an interesting manner. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also took a selfie with the students by participating in their joy.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Maharani Durgavati fought with Akbar’s army and ultimately sacrificed herself. The Chief Minister told the girl students that Maharani Durgavati built Aadhartal, Madan Mahal in Jabalpur. She built such water structures that after one pond got filled, the next pond, and then the next pond kept conserving water. This inspired the people to conserve water. He said that the rulers of that time were also pioneers in terms of technology. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, while narrating in detail to the girl students the saga of valour of Rani Durgavati, said that we are proud of the fact that she was the Maharani of Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the students about Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai that during her nearly 28 years of rule, she taught the country a new definition of governance. She built temples at various places, ghats, inns (rest houses), food areas, pilgrimage areas for travelers. Setting an example of women empowerment, Devi Ahilyabai got widows married. With this, she brought a new dawn in the lives of widows of that time. She did justice to everyone equally. She was a good daughter, a good daughter-in-law, a good wife and also a loving mother.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Devi Ahilyabai was raised like a daughter not only by her parents but also by her in-laws. They handed over the reins of power to Devi Ahilyabai more than to their son and also trained her to run the government. Ahilyabai worked for women empowerment throughout her life. She empowered the women of that time and made them skilled in making Maheshwari sarees. This made women self-reliant. Maheshwari sarees are a gift to us from Devi Ahilyabai. Ahilyabai built many temples and ghats with the personal money received from her mother-in-law Gotmabai. She made Maheshwar her capital. She was an ideal personality of women empowerment in the true sense. She taught the country that temples and pilgrimages are not just for worship, it increases tourism and creates internal relations with tourism and travel, it promotes cultural nationalism.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the students that Devi Ahilyabai Holkar was born on 31 May 1725 in a Maratha Hindu family in a village called Chaundi, which is now in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra. Since 31 May marks the 300th anniversary of her birth, this is why not only Madhya Pradesh but the entire country is celebrating her 300th birth anniversary with great enthusiasm. He said that on 31 May, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi himself is coming to Bhopal to attend the Mahila Empowerment Maha Sammelan organized in the memory of Devi Ahilyabai. He told the daughters to come to the program and take inspiration from the personality and work of Devi Ahilyabai.

In the ‘CM Ki Pathshaala’ program, the daughters also asked questions to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. The Chief Minister answered all the questions with great ease and politeness.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav observed the new household products, light lamps, designer mirrors, fabric, designer kurtas and other exhibits made of ceramics by the girl students under the ‘Holistic Upskilling Nari Shakti Project’ at the Women’s Polytechnic College and praised the innovations of the girls wholeheartedly. On this occasion, regional MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, social worker Shri Ravindra Yati, college principal Shri Rao along with other public representatives, departmental officers, college teachers and girl students were present.
