The valour and courage of Veerangana Rani Durgavati is an inspiration for the future generation: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that Rani Durgavati, true to her name, was an embodiment of valor and courage like Maa Durga. Today is her martyrdom day. Rani Durgavati was born about 500 years ago. Western countries, including America, are generally considered to be leading in culture, but India has a glorious past. Rani Durgavati and Rani Avantibai of the tribal region are the biggest examples of women empowerment. Rani Durgavati’s father had made her proficient in horse riding, swordsmanship and war skills 500 years ago. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the function organized in Barha village on Tuesday after paying tribute to Veerangana Rani Durgavati at her Samadhi located at Narrai Nala in Jabalpur. A modern zoo will be built in Jabalpur on the lines of Bhopal’s Van Vihar Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Thakurtal of Jabalpur will be developed as a tourist destination. A modern zoo (rescue center and zoo) will be built here on the lines of Van Vihar of Bhopal, this center will be dedicated to the brave queen of Gondwana Empire, Rani Durgavati. This wildlife rescue center will be known by the name of Rani Durgavati.

The state government is moving forward by honoring all the great personalities including Rani Durgavati. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav announced to give Rs 5 lakh to Municipal Corporation Jabalpur for events like marathon and Rs 5,000 to every folk artist who gives a wonderful performance in the program. Durgavati’s stories of bravery will be included in school curriculum Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government has started a scheme in the name of Rani Durgavati for the promotion and procurement of coarse grains. Rani Durgavati fought 52 battles in her lifetime and won 51. Her Gondwana empire included 23 thousand villages. Veer Rani Durgavati defeated the Mughal army 3 times. The state government has decided to include the stories of her bravery in the school curriculum. This is a sequence of development from heritage. Veerangana Durgavati also made remarkable efforts in the direction of water conservation. She was betrayed at this place and she sacrificed herself bravely. Rani Durgavati also remained free like Chandrashekhar Azad; the enemy could never touch her.

Remembering the brave women, he said that this region has a wonderful saga of valour and courage of Rani Avantibai and Rani Lakshmibai. At present, a sister from the tribal region is making the post of President proud. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that after delimitation, there is a feeling of giving 33 percent reservation to the sisters in the assembly elections. During the program, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented cheques and certificates to the runners who secured first, second and third positions in the Rani Durgavati Marathon race competition.

Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh said that after taking oath as Chief Minister, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav decided to dedicate the first cabinet meeting to Rani Durgavati and hold it on the land of Gondwana. He said that recently an amount of Rs. 10 crore was sanctioned for the development of the Samadhi Sthal. To make the Samadhi Sthal more grand and attractive, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has been requested to sanction more funds. He said that in the coming times, this Samadhi Sthal of Rani Durgavati will be a living example of the sacrifice of women power not only for Mahakoshal but for the entire country. Public Health Engineering Minister Smt. Sampatiya Uikey, Rajya Sabha Member Smt. Sumitra Balmiki, MP Shri Ashish Dubey, Mayor Shri Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu, MLAs Shri Sushil Kumar Tiwari Indu, Ashok Rohani, Santosh Varkade, Dr. Abhilash Pandey and Neeraj Singh, tribal people and a large number of citizens were present.
