The Chief Minister congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Chherchhera festival
Raipur, 12 January 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has congratulated and wished the people of the state on the famous folk festival of Chhattisgarh, Chherchhera. On this occasion, he has wished the people of the state happiness, prosperity and well-being. In his congratulatory message issued on the eve of Chherchhera festival, Sai has said that Chherchhera festival is celebrated with great pomp and gaiety in Chhattisgarh on the day of Paush Purnima in the joy of the arrival of the new crop at home. It is believed that by donating on this day there is no shortage of wealth and grains in the houses.
Sai said that Chherchhera festival, celebrated as Mahadaan and crop festival, is the carrier of our social harmony, charity and rich glorious tradition. Mother Shakambhari Jayanti is also celebrated on this day. According to mythological belief, on this day Lord Shankar had asked for alms from Mother Annapurna, so people also donate vegetables, fruits along with paddy.
