Bhopal: Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel has praised the efforts of the State Government in conducting the 100-day Nikshay Shivir Abhiyan, expanding TB elimination efforts, distributing food baskets with the cooperation of various sections of the society and achieving more than 5 thousand TB free Gram Panchayats. He said that the achievements of the State are the result of excellent teamwork and planning.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the feeling of “uttam sukh nirogi kaya” (good happiness and healthy body) has been present in Indian culture since ancient times. There has been a tradition of following seasonal diet and restrained lifestyle in families.
Governor Shri Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav inaugurated the 100-day Nishkhay Camp Campaign Felicitation Ceremony and Healthy Liver Mission at Sandipani Auditorium in Raj Bhavan.
Governor Shri Patel said that efforts should be made to spread awareness about infection control and taking medicines in full quantity on time to eradicate TB. He said that by stopping TB medicine midway, the patient becomes drug resistant to the medicines. This makes treatment difficult and also increases the possibility of spreading infection. Mentioning the challenges of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, he praised the government for launching the Healthy Liver Mission. Governor Shri Patel has asked to get tested for healthy liver through the easy methods mentioned in the program and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that from Patanjali to Gherand Samhita, we get the formula to keep the body healthy. Indian knowledge texts also give the same idea that just as a ripe fruit completes its life, similarly a person should also complete his life journey. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Governor Shri Patel’s sensitivity towards the health of the people of the state is commendable. The state government is committed to make the state TB free by the year 2028. Intensive efforts are going on at every level in this direction. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav praised the efforts of the TB Champions honored in the program and their determination and efforts to defeat TB. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav has inspired everyone to exercise and follow a regular routine by giving information about the regular routine and daily exercise of 72-year-old Padma Bhushan Dr. Sarin.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla said that only Madhya Pradesh has been honoured by the Central Government in the 100-day Nikshay Shivir Abhiyan. Mentioning the achievements of the state in the implementation of TB eradication efforts, he said that under the Nirogi Kaya Abhiyan, 90 lakh people have been screened for various diseases including diabetes, blood pressure, fatty liver. Continuing the campaign, work is being done on the target of 100 percent. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, along with providing treatment to patients through air ambulance, the work of providing organs for organ transplant is also being done successfully. He said that the last rites of those who donate organs and bodies will be performed with state honours. A plan has been prepared to honour their family members on Republic and Independence Day. Efforts are also being made to make liver transplant facility available in the state.
Director of Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Padma Vibhushan Dr. Shiv Kumar Sarin has said that there is a need to live life by making healthy liver a commitment. He said that India is leading in the world and Madhya Pradesh is leading in the country in activities to prevent fatty liver. He stressed on health education. He said that the initial symptoms of fatty liver can be checked on the basis of waist size, height and weight ratio. He said that many diseases including diabetes can be controlled by making the liver healthy.
In the program, Principal Secretary Public Health Medical Education Mr. Sandeep Yadav said that during the 100-day Nikshay Mitra Abhiyan, more than 6.25 lakh TB tests have been conducted in 23 identified districts. Treatment has been provided to more than 22 thousand new patients. More than 28 thousand food baskets have been distributed by more than 18 thousand new Nikshay Mitras in the campaign. Financial assistance has also been given to more than 30 thousand people through DBT. The campaign is now being expanded in the entire state. He said that the goal of the Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Campaign is “Liver will be saved, life will be saved”. Screening of about 2.5 crore people will be done. The challenge will be faced by changing the lifestyle.
TB Champion Award winner Miss Anjali Dangi of Vidisha and Mr. Om Baiga of Mandla shared their experiences. Nishkshay Mitra Distinguished Citizen Award was given to Mr. Meenesh Kumar Jain of Jabalpur for distributing 300 food baskets and Mr. Vishal Goyal of Mandsaur for providing handheld X-ray machine. Collectors and their teams of Chhindwara, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Sehore and Narsinghpur were felicitated for their excellent performance in the 100-day Nishkshay Shivir campaign. Seoni and Betul districts, Gram Panchayat Kanhar village, District Mandla, Gram Panchayat Patwa, District Balaghat, Gram Panchayat Sawarwani, District Chhindwara were felicitated for declaring maximum number of Gram Panchayats as TB free for 3 consecutive years. IOCL, UPIN, NPCIL, Green Co. Private Limited were felicitated for providing food baskets and equipment under social responsibility in the campaign.
During the campaign, the health department employees who performed excellently, STS Mr. Umesh Sharma Bareilly, District Raisen, STLS Mr. Siddhesh Sharma District Ashoknagar, Lab Technician Ms. Sushma Sharma, CHO Mr. Narendra Sharma Vijaypur, District Sheopur, CHO Ms. Nisha AAM Hinotia Bargi, District Jabalpur and DPC Mr. Sharda Prasad Gupta were felicitated. Development Partners Jaya Ego and STSU Team were also felicitated. On this occasion, the guests released a booklet based on the 100-day Nishkay Mitra Abhiyan. The launch of the Healthy Liver Mission was done by releasing the poster.
National Health Mission Director Ms Saloni Sidana expressed her gratitude. Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor Mr KC Gupta, Commissioner Public Health Mr Tarun Rathi were present on the stage in the programme.
