Tele-medicine service is a boon for expert consultation in rural areas: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla
Bhopal: Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla has said that the government is committed to providing advanced and quality health services in every area of the state. He said that tele-medicine service is a powerful medium for providing specialist services in remote rural areas. 
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla launched tele-medicine service at Shyam Shah Medical College, Rewa. Through this service, doctors of primary and community health centers of Rewa and Sidhi districts will get consultation from senior specialists.
Under this service, now senior specialist doctors of Medicine, Pediatrics and Gynecology departments of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital, Rewa will give necessary advice to doctors working in remote areas through phone or other means of communication. This will provide immediate benefit to those patients who need expert advice. Now the citizens of rural areas will need to come to the district headquarters for specialist services only in special circumstances.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that this service will not only reduce the need for patients to travel, but will also save time, money and resources. Also, this will facilitate doctors working at the primary level to take quick and accurate decisions with the help of experts. This will improve maternal-child health, early identification of serious diseases and quality of treatment.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla said that effective use of tele-medicine service will help in realizing the vision of “strong and healthy Madhya Pradesh”. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Shukla observed the arrangements of the tele-medicine room and gave instructions for its proper operation. He said that he will review the quality of the services being provided next week. Dean Medical College Rewa Dr. Sunil Agarwal and other doctors were present.
